The rewards of the Titanium MasterCard and the Titanium Rewards card are different.

In order to enjoy the same benefits, customers will have to apply for the new card.

Do note that all application will be subject to review and approval.

Sorry this is a little confusing, so if OCBC could just answer a simple Yes or No to the following questions... Thank you.

1) Can existing Titanium MasterCard apply for the new Titanium Rewards card?

2) Can one cardholder hold on to both the Titanium MasterCard and the new Titanium Rewards?

3) If the above 2) is No, then does this mean the old Titanium MasterCard will be automatically cancelled when the new Titanium Rewards card is approved?

4) Can a cardholder have both the blue and pink new Titanium Rewards card?

5) If the above 4) is Yes, is the cap 120,000 OCBC$ per card?

6) Will the supplementary cardholder spendings enjoy 10x rewards too?

Hi kokitty,

1. Yes, existing customers holding on to the Titanium MasterCard will be able to apply for the Rewards card. All applications are subject to the bank's review and approval.

2. and 3. For customers who have received a letter from the bank to be auto converted, their existing Titanium MasterCard will be deactivated once they have made their first transaction on their new Rewards card.

For customers who have voluntarily applied for the new Rewards card, they could choose to hold on to both cards, or request to terminate their existing Titanium MasterCard.

4. Yes, customers will be able to hold on to both the Pink and Blue Rewards card at the same time as the principal cardholder. Again, all applications are subject to review and approval.

5. Yes, rewards are capped per card.

6. Yes, supplementary cardholders will enjoy 10x rewards on eligible transactions as well. Rewards will be consolidated under the principal cardholder account.

For Apple Pay, the limit on old terminals is up to a $100, while new terminals can transact more than a $100. The same applies for Samsung Pay NFC.

For Samsung Pay MST, it would be up to your card/spending limit.

Pay), from 23 to 26 December 2016 and 30 December 2016 to 2 January 2017" in Clause 3 refers to the transaction date falling within these periods and not the posting date?

For the rest, TL;DR in the T&Cs mean that the mobile payment category has been extended to 31 Mar 2017 (which could be a good alternative to CitiRewards which ends on 31 Dec) and spendings earn 6 miles per dollar if they fall within the above periods as part of the Xmas and New Year promotion by OCBC. Also the no limit for Samsung MST may be a slight advantage over CitiRewards which is currently limited to $3,000.

Also do note that bonus miles programme has been discontinued since the 1st of December 2016. Cardholders will be earning OCBC$.

I understand, my reference to 6 miles per dollar was just a useful descriptor for 15X OCBC$ earned.

Thanks also for the clarification that the transactions must post within the promotion dates, ie 23 to 26 December 2016 and 30 December 2016 to 2 January 2017. Given the narrow 4 day window for posting and given that cardholders have no control over when or how merchants post, I would give this deal a miss. I had thought it was full of promise initially and was gearing up to spend until I now learn that it is based on posted dates. OCBC might want to consider tweaking future promotions either with a longer window or based on transaction date which the customer can control. Imagine if a customer transacts on 23 and it gets posted on 27th. Or trying to beat the "clock" he transacts on 21st to 22nd and it gets posted on 22nd.

Can you confirm if Samsung Pay using the MST function on this card is eligible for 10X points ?

I understand that any transactions effected thru SamsungPay are eligible for 10X, however am not sure if this is only eligible at Paywave contactless terminals or includes MST as well.
