What little advantage this card had will be gone. Not worth the annual fee anymore.

I recently (early Dec) asked for a VM quotation for SQ flight and was offered essentially a 1.1-1.3˘ per VM value (based on revenue fares available on SQ website).

Don't see why I'd ever opt to exercise that - even if I'm actually desperate and can't afford to risk the SQ waitlist, it probably makes more sense to pay in cash instead? Converting VM to KF will potentially unlock far greater value.

Unless you are redeeming first or business class for long haul or maybe medium haul routes if not it is not worth to redeem using VM. I tried to redeem business class tickets on Silkair and I found that it is better to transfer to krisflyer.

Recently I tried to redeem 150,000VM for regional travel and I found out that the VM is only worth SG$3400. If I transfer VM to Krisflyer miles and the miles will worth up to SG$5060 for regional route. I understand I have to forgo the PPS/Krisflyer miles accrual.

Voyage Miles is operated/handled by John Paul. They are majority (80%) owned by Accor Hotels.

Thought I'd just share my working here for how I evaluated their quotations. Found that each VM was only valued at 1.1-1.3˘, regardless of whether Y, PY or J. That seems really low, especially since some people (e.g. you!) have previously shared valuation of at least 2˘ per VM.

If anyone knows of cases where VM can be worth even more, pls share! Currently I still find it only makes sense if converting to KF for redemption.

SIN-BNE SQ235 (specific date in Feb 2018)
BNE-SIN SQ236 (specific date in Feb 2018)

Revenue price (as of 6 Dec)
Y: $1,550.90 ($900.90 for other flights on the same day)
PY: $1,510.90
J: $3,760.90

KF Award (although mostly waitlisted for outbound flight at this point)
Y: 56,000 + $160.90 (2.48˘ per mile. 1.32˘ per mile if based on cheapest ticket available for day.)
PY: 90,000 + $160.90 (1.5˘ per mile)
J: 116,000 + $160.90 (3.10˘ per mile)

VM Award (as of 5 Dec) - not taking into account miles earned
Y: 107,400 + $174.25 (1.28˘ per mile)
PY: 107,400 + $174.25 (1.24˘ per mile)
J: 107,400 + $2,558.43 (1.12˘ per mile)
Unless you are redeeming first or business class for long haul or maybe medium haul routes if not it is not worth to redeem using VM.

If after 1st year and cc charged annual fee for 2nd year, can cancel the card without paying annual fee?

generally yes, because the annual fees are charged prospectively. therefore if you don't use and cancel, you don't need to pay.

Just saw that cardholders can now convert voyage miles into krisflyer miles without having to pay the admin fee. Unlimited lounge access (+1 guest) has also been extended until the end of 2018.

The local retail spend earning rate had been increased to 1.6 voyage miles per $ for Voyage Premier, Voyage Premier Private Client and Bank of Singapore Voyage card members.

Not so bad lah if you like using the Voyage exchange service. And also unlimited lounge access with one guest. However, their lounge reach not as wide as Priority Pass

i don't think so, best is to cancel before renewal. I had experience like this with Voyage Card and also the CitiBank Prestige MasterCard

There is also no pro-rata refund if you pay the fee and cancel halfway

Two questions! (Hoping for CSO to confirm, but welcome any voices of experience too.)

1) http://ocbc.com/voyagepromo states that "the VOYAGE Miles earned under Clause 1.2.i.a and 1.2.i.b above will be converted to KrisFlyer Miles into the Principal VOYAGE Cardmember’s
KrisFlyer account" (referring to those who opt to pay $3,210 or $10,000). Is this still the case? Can the cardholder opt to keep the miles as VM instead?

2) https://www.ocbc.com/assets/pdf/card...-programme.pdf is the $1: 1VM figure a typo? Or will DCC overseas really earn at a lower rate than even local general spend?
1.1.4 Overseas Retail and Dining Spend : earn 2.3 VOYAGE Miles for every S$1 equivalent charged in foreign currency to the Card. For the avoidance of doubt, any overseas retail and dining spend charged to the Card in Singapore dollars will earn VOYAGE Miles at a rate of S$1: 1 VOYAGE Mile...

Hi louist,

For miles awarded in the manners stated above, the Voyage miles have to be converted into KrisFlyer miles.

Spend in SGD overseas earns 1:1, which is as you've said, lower that local general spend.

When I signed up for the voyage card last October, VM was credited to my account, and I just received a call from OCBC telling me that they will transfer my VM to Krisflyer!

Hi Tiger9119,

For cardholders who had chosen the $3,210 or $10,000 annual fee option will have the Voyage miles converted to Krisflyer miles.

Should you have further queries on this, do drop us a PM.

Thank you.
