feel like cancelling the card now
Yeah same thoughts, going to be one of the worst miles card in Singapore with the changes:
- Low base miles at 1.2 miles per dollar (vs 1.4 other banks)
- exclusion to be added (insurance, PayPal etc)
- change to use a limited dragonpass (to be confirmed) vs other banks PP
- high to be foreign transaction fee of 3% (effective Oct18) vs competitors of 2.5% to 2.8%
- not much incremental miles opportunity vs competitors (e.g DBS attitude at 3mpd for online hotel and flight)
- Miles at Citibank is at card level instead of customer level unlike competitors DBS, UOB which allows for accumulation across their cards

poor business decisions need to be punished
need to let them feel it

T&C did not change. If u did not get what makes u think it will be now?

If u think there is a possibility, try it again
well, i made a call back then and the CSO told me that ezlink topup wasn't eligible for any miles, which was why I was surprised when the folks claimed otherwise.

sure thing, will make a small topup and try again

hmm, now I know why they are giving 2.4 miles for overseas retail transactions between Oct and Dec this year.
read this from the info on last page of e-statement.

It used to be the best DBS Altitude alternative card for local spend and that was why I got the card. With the revision, it is worse off except getting miles per S$1 spend instead of per $1.666+ spend. No point keeping the card anymore.

The last round when Citibank raised to 2.8% from 2.5%, the other banks also followed suit. I won't be surprised if more increases are to be observed.

that's because i topped up 2 years ago online, and did not get a single mile
I guess you used cards from other banks instead. Anyway, things are going to change for Citibank. It is good while it lasts.

Never expected such a drastic reduction in benefits especially when competitors are ramping up their miles cards, such as the newly launched BOC miles card. Really good timing to “encourage” their customers in switching out.
