Cool

Yah... Sinkies complain about high housing price, CPF policies, but still vote for PAP... Omg
People's Action Party is centre right, it is only natural that most human beings in Singapore vote PAP. If you count the number of people who are right handlers, usually people either have no fixed preferred hand, or they choose to write with their right hand. This being the case, whether consciously or subconsciously ballots can get cast in favour of PAP.

This differs from the Malaysian Democratatic Action Party which is basically a hybrid form of Singapore government founded by Devan Nair. The DAP is centre left. Usually there can be such a major swing from a far right government till centre left because of too much evil in the ruling party. I would imagine Malaysia divided into two by now, like East and West Germany, North and South Korea. Pahang and East Malaysia on one side, West Malaysia on another side. Even after they won the elections, UMNO the right wing conceded defeat in favour of a centre right Dr Mahathir. The conflict between PPBM and its allies Keadilan and DAP is actually more complicated than before.

In Singapore's case, it is less than likely that such a anarchism happen because the ruling party stays centre and tilting right e.g. USA-ish.

One of the crucial reasons why PAP can last is because in times of challenges they have a known succession system.

In Malaysia this was how everything did not work out, because Mahathir clung on and he did not understand how his cling-y influence affected Anwar, Badawi and Najib.

Nearly 30 years have passed and Anwar still is not allowed by Mahathir inheriting the prime minister role, all because Mahathir refuses taking a back seat when LKY had the wisdom of.
