Yes the earliest I can start NIE would be Dec 2018 I should really hope so. Yes I hope u get in too! Best of luck stay composed and confident!

Yes since my official start date was Dec 22, I was considered unemployed between sept to Dec. I was not working full time at the time of my application up until my start date.

So far it has been a nice experience. My colleagues are helpful. And the kids are so fun and interesting( I got a P1 class btw) work wise the workload is expected to increase in term 2. Currently I was more of shadowing the shadowing a more experienced teacher.

Thank you so much Colling!
Wow, I look up Feb 2017 untrained window. It said earliest contract teaching was Jun 2017 and NIE Dec 2017. But they only offer you in Aug >.<
Which mean you will join Dec 2018 NIE. We would be same batch if we manage to get offer by Jun 2018 (which I know it's very tough and I don't really feel hopeful).

If your don't mind sharing, between Sep and Dec (after signing contract) you are still not considered employed by moe right? Did you resign right away or wait till Nov?

Lastly, how has ur teaching stint been? I hope it's everything you want and more. You have been so kind to share

Went for PGDE interview today, probably screwed up big time.
What are the chances of being rejected after interview though? Is it a 50-50 thing or they’d only take, say, 3 out of every 10 applicants?

Basically along the line of
- Why do you want to be a teacher
If you don’t have teaching experience
- Why didn’t you try teaching such as relief teaching/ tuition center
- What makes you think/ so sure you can handle a class of 40?
If you have kids
- We have seasoned teachers who teach before they have children of their own and have difficulties juggling home and work. Do you think you can do it?
If you have a career before this
- Why teaching?

I think if you’re not academically inclined, you’d have to have experience to back you up. Anything helps such as tuition, relief teaching, school camp assistance

They don’t quite buy the whole passion thing

Haha, I went through the questions in Glassdoor too. So I was taken aback when these questions were posted to me too (cause some sounds personal). Thank you n hope yours would be good too.
