assuming i didnt misinterpret my math fren(last yr now), math is mostly about specialisation.
u can specialise in various fields for math.

Curriculum wise, just check the school pages to find the different modules taken by both course. For BA from math sci side, we would take 1 year of common math modules before going into specialisation which includes modules from math, business and computing schools. This is why I am unable to comment much since I have not started my specialisation track yet lol. As for jobs wise, I don't have any ideas except seeing some successful alumni and their stories and the graduate employment survey(80+% employment rate with about 3.3k mean pay iirc). Tbh, I can't really trust these until I step out to find job myself.

mathematical science offer computing? as in IST and comp sci?

Few selected modules only. Plus some basic programming in year 1.

Are the maths modules difficult? More difficult than h2 maths? And what topics they mainly focused at?

Feel like a more in depth H2 math. Need to learn how to prove, not just solve. Year 1 mainly on calculus(limits, differentiation, integration) and linear algebra(vectors, matrices stuff). Got easy parts but also got difficult ones lor. I did do a crash course using khan academy before starting school course I almost forgot everything after 2 years of NS....

OP NOTE

Stop arguing about the usefulness of arts degrees, this is considered out of topic here (not admission related). Each person has their own freedom to choose their desired course, do not impose opinions on others. No unconstructive arguing in this thread. Want to give advice (no matter how "hard truth" it is), word it properly and be sensitive to others as well.

This thread is only used to discuss about admission / matriculation matters regarding NUS/NTU/SMU for this year's admission exercise. Strictly no discussion of other topics or policy; you can create a new thread for that

Ottoke 04-06-2017 03:30 AM

I know the people here have a lot of views on each degree, be it arts or what.

Before this thread gets huge again, I would want to remind to keep discussions civil, and try to stay in topic. marigoldhl has said what I want to say so I do not need to repeat it again. I am sure you won't want the admin to step in.

May the odds be ever in your favour.

Hi, I was recently provided an interview by NTU based on my appeal letter. What are the chances of them accepting me as my grades are slightly off from the IGP.

The fact that they gave you an interview means you still stand a pretty good chance! All the best :)

Hi, just asking but will NTU notify/email you that they received your appeal letter? I tried checking the portal but it doesn't say anything about receiving my appeal or anything
