Do you know that SIT and SUSS are applied universities in contrast to Singapore other researched based universities like NUS, NTU, SMU and SUTD?

Yes, that’s why they don’t really look into ranking.

SUTD also consider as researched based universities? I thought SUTD also consider as applied universities like SIT & SUSS.

From SUTD website:

“Embracing this tenet as a call to action, SUTD will be a leading research-intensive global university focused on technology and all elements of technology-based design.”

Academic universities (Research)
Studying at an academic university is theory-based. Compared to a university of applied sciences, you will do a lot of (scientific) research. Studying at an academic university has a very independent character. This also goes for the internships: you will be more involved in performing research for a company and less in working on projects within a team.

Universities of applied sciences
Studying at a university of applied sciences is practice-based. You develop skill sets that you will also use in your future work environment. You work on projects directly related to your field and you work together with other students all the time. You don’t just learn the skills you need, you get to use them in practice all through your time at university. Studying at a university of applied sciences will prepare you for a professional role in your field.
