UOL International Relations

Am planning to apply to UOL-IR, but their website doesn't really show what kind of career you'll have. Assuming you cannot find a job at MFA and any embassy. I did google about it but I want to know in SG, where do our IR grads go?

If you were in US/Europe, there are some opportunities in think-thanks, NGOs, intergovernmental organisations, etc.

But for Singapore, seems like the civil service is your best bet (yet discrimination exists against private degrees). There are some junior research assistant roles here and there but many require further education (masters/PhD).

All-in-all, quite a risky move compared to traditional fields like biz/acct/econs. You really gotta search beyond Singapore and be comfortable working in lower-paid positions (albeit in renowned organisations sometimes).
