Dark spot on Canon G9x compact images

Hi!

I recently noticed a dark spot on the images from my Canon G9x compact camera. The location seems to shift when I zoom in or out. I only notice this when light shines directly into the lens.
How do I fix this problem? Is there any shop that can help me (how much would it cost?), or can I fix it on my own?

Thanks!

That looks like dust on the sensor (or possibly in the lens). You can bring it to Canon Service Centre to see if they can help you blow out the dust. I have a Nikon compact that Nikon's service centre was kind enough to clean out the dust for free.

Alternatively, you can try this:

Might be worth giving a shot.

you can prevent that by keeping your camera in a pouch

I tried vacuuming it with a Dyson. no luck
Not sure if Canon can do it for free - anyone has experience? Maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow..

Did Canon help you with the problem? I had the same issue for quite a while on my g7x. Haven't got around to approaching Canon. Previously my Sony camera had the same problem and Sony helped me clean it for free. But I can't remember if it was within warranty period.

Any recommendation for camera servicing shop in Singapore. Had a used Sony RX100 ii compact camera but discovered got 3 black spots on the photos taken. Suspected to be dust internally of the camera.

Any places to go which is not chop carrot kind?

Better call especially if under warranty.
