Would you recommend any Canon model within my budget?
For a 2K budget may i suggest a 450D body alone + tamron 18-55mm f2.8
The combo alone would cost ard $1600 ba. U still got spare change of about $400.
I would recommend to get a UV filter, lens pen. Maybe a blower if u wan.

Other accessories that u may consider is the battery grip for better grip, digicabi for storage. Liddat will cost ard $2k.

The other model would be the 40D. Personally i would recommend go feel the camera for urself @ vivo. The diff btw tis 2 model (body) is ard $300. Do a bit of research online on both body and diff lens to see which suits ur objective.

I agree with this suggest. Opt for the 40D if you want the studier build and faster frames...

Sorry, but what's your budget again? S$2k with lens can try D90 or 40D with some spare change, probably good enough for a second-hand flash or lens. I went for the D90 mainly because of it's similar performance with the D300 and video recording function.
i suppose d300 is low mid range and d90 is high of entry level..d300 doesnt have auto mode?

Get a single 18-200 VR lense, you will like it.

You need to buy it separately because I do not think there's any kit set for this combo.

The lense should cost about a k.
The body of D90 1k plus, so it'll be 2k ++.

If you no need good AF LV or Movie mode integration, you can consider Tamron 18-270mm, which should cost a little bit cheaper than the 18-200mm only, in the $900 range.

18 - 270 mm is about 27 - 405 mm in D90 considering the crop factor.
18 - 200 mm is about 27 - 300 mm in D90, about 100 mm difference.
