i from sp. waiting for my last year sem result. i am from ddm cge. my gpa currently is 3.4, tons of cca points and won a lot of video competitions and awards for school.

CCA points only take up 5% of the entry requirement during my time and not sure now. Entering uni from poly depends on ur O's as well and the course you choose to enter. 3.4 is eligible for certain courses if your O's is good but not the more popular courses that usually requires 3.6-3.8 on average.

ADM looks more into the portfolio you submit than your actual results so if your portfolio is well done, your chance of admission is quite high since ADM has admitted students who are below 3.0.

yo ... fellow schmate haha .. somemore same building ... DIT here ... i have 3.85 GPA for my IT dip and 3.625 for my Specialist Dip ... CCA grade is A with merit =) ...

nope .. CCA is not important for the normal admission ... unless u use it for discretionary admission or application of scholarships ..

Its useless for overseas uni. In the past local uni will look at cca and give up to 5% bonus for it but it seems like this is no longer the case with the discretionary criteria.

rejected by NUS for computer engineering with first 5 sem GPA of 3.822 but got accepted by NTU using same GPA for computer engineering.

i think there's probably more important factors along with gpa, such as interviews, cca records slightly too.

The thing is, good cca records will only get you so far. The bottom line is still academic performance.

if you're struggling in poly, chances are that you will struggle to cope with uni.

You need a minimum of at least 3.5 combined gpa by sem 5(year 3 sem 1). Any lower and it'd be even harder to get a place.
However, some uni courses which require portfolio may not need very high gpa.
