[GPGT] Carousell posts $7m revenue but $25m loss in 2018.

I keep reading in local papers making a big deal of Carousell founders, like they are the poster boys of some great entrepreneurial feat.... and I was given the impression that they were doing very well until I see these numbers....

$7m revenue with $25m loss....

So what's the big deal about them if their business never made a day of profit??

$180m funding to produce only $7m revenue after 7 long years and with a $25m loss in 1 yr... well done! LOL

Seriously $7m revenue is not a big deal considering they raised more than $180m in funding and been in business for 7 yrs.

You raised more than $180m in funding and all you produced is $7m revenue after 7 yrs???

Unicorns r sort of allowed to make some losses as long as they grow to make profit later but loss that is 3.5 times revenue is ridiculous after so many years...

I doubt they can monetize it much

7 yrs is a bloody long time to produce just $7m revenue with a $182m funding... not to mention losing $25m in 1 yr.

7 yrs is a bloody long time to produce just $7m revenue with a $120m funding... not to mention losing $25m in 1 yr.

There is a chance that other people didnt do a carousell because it didnt make financial sense to do so.

Using mobile to buy sell instead of online sites is a natural idea in smartphone era.

They raised more than $180m to only produce $7m revenue and that's with a $25m loss in 1 yr. What a joke really.

And why does our local media paint them as some great entrepreneurs. LOL
