How many hours does your gut last?

Don't forget Singapore climate is hot and humid and natural gut isn't ideal for us. It loses tension easily in these parts as well as its other supposed superior properties. In short, a waste of money and effort. If you say it's for "feel," may I remind you that you're using a Pure Drive and any "feel" (perceived or otherwise) derived from natural gut is immediately nullified by the Pure Drive's stiffness rating.

Also, I don't like hybrids. I would go syn gut and poly but I don't really like the hours of experimentation and tweaking that comes with it (and other hybrids). Reason being poly tension should usually be much much lower than synthetic/natural gut or multifil.

So when you cross two strings of such disparate properties, you have to do a lot of tweaking before you find the best marriage. I am not a pro and don't have the time LOL

Synthetic gut with synthetic gut or poly and poly is much more predictable and easier to adapt to. Just to enjoy with peace of mind.

As for the iron arm part, I don't see how this would affect your arm unless the technique is wrong? The modern FH, for eg, uses very little of the arm... There is hardly any arm at all.

People who use poly do not string it to 68 pounds...especially in stiff modern rackets.. they use half of that or even less. I used an APD with full poly strung to 32M 28X and it felt beautiful. You know why in the old days, people could use 70 pound tensions and get away with it? Yup it's the racket flex. The old school rackets were a lot more flexible and polys did not exist those days. If you string to 60 or 70 in your Pure Drive, you're gonna get killed.

You're already using a Pure Drive, one of the stiffest frames on the market even today, together with the modern high RA-rated Head and Wilson sticks.

Putting natural gut in it, I wonder if:
1. you can even feel the gut
2. what can the natural gut do better (spin, etc) that poly cannot
Actually more for topspin. I experimented for a while and found the gut mains/luxilon cross combo at 50lbs to have the most spin potential without having a harsh feel like full poly. The gut also maintains tension pretty well. With full poly, it felt like a rocket launcher after a few weeks. Wrist was also sore with full poly at 50lbs, no joke.

But then again, I bought Wilson gut in bulk at usd $30 per pack, so it was cheap to experiment.

If I hit twice a week, the hybrid can last for months. When I used full gut, it would start fraying within 2 weeks and would break in 4 weeks.

Don't think so, been to Melbourne like 5 times now. Nothing there really interests me

Knn this thread still around havenít die yet. Sydney fish market is considered fresh only. It is actually not cheap. $70 for half a lobster. Okay lah cheap because itís fresh made with fresh ingredients. I went there could only afford to eat fish and chip.
Actually, the cheapest seafood is bought online!

I think KFC need to go Eastwood or epping.

Sent from Genie's heart using GAGT
Actually there are plenty of KFCs in the city and in the suburbs (mainly Eastern). Like there is one on Bathurst street opposite Town Hall Woolies! But if you're going all the way to Eastwood to eat fried chicken, you might as well try Red Rooster (though the branch there has closed )

Mai zhao!!! ;(
Still here, pal

lol.. WD thwarted by 8-lane for last post
