Hi, I would like to ship in a sewing machine. Box dimensions maybe 1.2m x 1.2mx 1.2m. Any recommendations for sea freight agents? Thank you in advance.

Ya, but cause was my mum who signed it, and they delivery guy just insisted only got 5 parcels, even though the deliveey list show 6 parcels.
Next time its better to inform the person who is at home to receive the parcels how many parcels in total. According to the number of bags not very accurate as there might be missing parcels which issnt packed inside then after the delivery order is signed its hard for you to argue with the China or Singapore side already.

You check with china first and ask how many did they send in total. Dun tell them you only receive 5 before they tell you the exact qty they sent. If its really 6 then tell them u got 5 only. Let them sort out with their SG side and update you.

6 parcels. Wasnt at home when the delivery guy came. My mum said he informed the delivery guy but the delivery guy insisted only got 5 and make my mum signed.
can kiss bye to 6th le.

how come so many ppl got the incomplete delivery nowadays?? ya if possible, do what @touchme recommends, that is to check infront of the delivery guy. if its not possible, like in my case the delivery guy was v impatient, wanted to leave quickly and keep telling me its not his prob coz his job is only to deliver then i would rather reject.
I assure them his job is done, once the #packages are right, serve him drink and ask him help as witness only to #of parcels inside. Assured him less or more, it's none of his biz, you only want to remark on the delivery order, when signing. Yes rushing but llst too and usually end up help me tear up and count too..haha

Possible to tell us the item value so that we can calculate if sea small parcel or air sensitive is more worth it.

awesome!! first 2kg is 5.20 per kg or 5.20 for 2kg? 😁
One look is cheap but actually is not

Tb official parcel GST calculation is only on the declared goods for sea parcel. For example good value $10, gst 7% payable is $0.70.

MRC gst calculation on sea parcel is (value of declared good + shipping cost + insurance (if any)). For example, good value $10, shipping cost $5 and no insurance. Gst payable is ($10 + $5) x 7% = $1.05

However, I asked few people around me when they shipped 1 cbm, hows the gst calculation. All told me is only on the value of the goods excluded shipping cost.

Given volumetric weight (0.01cbm/0.6), for 2vkg ($5.56) sea, would rather go ezbuy air for +$1.20 more ( $6.76), 2 weeks faster and save on goods gst. Or sea-ship 8x more volume with friends for $13.

Nonetheless, it's good for sensitive and door.

I posted on the MO thread its IRAS who charges Tax based on CIF (Cost+Insurance if any+Freight) not I charged. Like I said its up to customer to declare whatever amount they wanna declare but if tio custom check they ask shipper to provide official invoice or proof of the value then you will have a good time inside explaining to them.

https://www.iras.gov.sg/IRASHome/GST...nto-Singapore/

Tax is based on 7% of CIF (Cost,Insurance, Freight) for both air (Above $400 and sea (Any amount also taxable).

Still have doubt please call 1800 356 8633 IRAS GST Helpline. Thank you.

Chargeable GST is CIF ..... Cost of goods, insurance, freight. So yes, technically you'd need to pay GST on your shipping cost.
I have paid a few times before at Customs and Excise counter at level 1 @ Paya Lebar SPC Singpost processing centre.

But of coz how diff vendors charge, up to them. It's like "free shipping". Amazon FSSG is still not free, for us consumers (we are pretty price sensitive here in South east asia and South Asia).....our job is to look at the *final price*.

And also some intangibles like speed/service/fuss-free/after service and guarantees/reliability etc.
