Use your brain and think.

If it cost $135 to pump, it means his tank is almost empty. Empty tank u think he will just pump $10? Not even enough to travel to the next patrol station.

So obvious he purposely wait until his tank almost empty then come out with this pattern to cheat those poor old attendant.
Caltex should run statistical report. Quote how many conti car will pump $10 petrol.

Need to screw him gao gao.

for the record, i pump less than $10 before I head to JB to pump full tank.

and for the record, i always pump myself, I dont get others to pump.

and my car is a cheapo almost 20 yr old car.

not high SES thats why i seem to be siding the guy
u need 3/4 tank to go JB and $10 will not move BMW's meter.

u just want to argue to win then let u win lor..

i know i may be stretching it a bit cos there are a lot of 'what ifs'

but what if he borrowed the car to use and was only looking to pump what he used?

or what if he only intended to pump $10 so that he can have enough fuel to reach JB to pump the rest?

its the same at a chai png stall what. u asked for 1 meat 1 vege, actually only $3. but the old aunty put 2 meat and 2 vege and charge you $6 then say cannot put back the meat.... would u be happy to pay? cos anyway, u didnt have a big appetite and cannot finish what she had given you
Depends la... If its elderly ppl manning the store then let it go lor.. if not elderly ppl, i probably also just let it go lor.. at most next time just dun patronise the store le

$10 or 4L is enough to travel to JB pelangi to pump full tank at less than half the price,

buy groceries, go for massage and eat supper

you have no basis to assume that he is out to cheat

CCTV can show this driver

If he is loitering around the store means he is lying. It take less than 30s to pump $10

If it is $135, it takes a while to pump

on the other hand, what if the driver was right?

if he did ask for $10 only but was mistakenly pumped $135, then how?

if you dont take age and the cost of the car into consideration and if this happened somewhere else, like a food stall,

some of you would say that the stall owner is trying to pull a fast one and make the customer pay more than what he had asked for.

maybe the car isnt even his, thats why he only asked to pump $10
Bad example. Stall owner gets all profits. Does the attendant get anything out of this?

Some have mentioned that $10 wouldn't make a difference in the fuel gauge since the car has a big tank. Hence, unlikely to be a borrowed or rental car. Only 2 possibilities I can think of,

1) due to be scrapped/sold, hence genuine mistake by attendant.
2) farking cheapo

I pick 2. Even if it's a genuine mistake, I would either pay half of the bill or the full bill. Maybe that's why I'm still low ses and high ses can drive bmw.

This breakdown of communication error wouldn't happen if there was no pump attendant at the first place. Every car owner should pump their own petrol in their own car. No need to argue.

Even if it is a honest mistake by the pump attendant, decent human being will at least offer to pay partially than walking off like that ., Agree?

yes u need 3/4, that rule has been around for over 10 years

if u do not know it by now,

they have not been checking daily for many many years

and i know of many people who go in with less than 3/4 tank

esp many PHV and limo drivers etc

$10 is enough to remove the fuel warning light from your dashboard. whether the needle moves or not is irrelevant cos they dont check ur cars at customs anyway

she is shaming him publicly,

lets assume that he did ask for a $10 top up only.

so why should he be made to pay an additional $125 extra?

apart from KPKB online, she should do something other than being a fake to pity the old man and putting it online, she can maybe give him like 50 bucks to help him subsidise the damage if she felt so strongly about it

just because he has worked hard to reach a level where he can buy a big car, he should pay for someone else's mistake?

come on, be objective a bit guys
Even if the attendant had made a mistake...the petrol is still in the car.....a person with empathy will just write off that mistake in consideration of circumstances.....

unfortunately...base on your post..you seemed to think that we live in a dog eat dog world where everyone should be punished for their mistakes made...no wonder so many Singapore are self-centered creatures with no care and consideration for their fellow countrymen
