The pork rib fats to me are healthy good fats
simply fat present in food - not as if ADDED extra fats there etc

Wed 16 May

Managed IF of 21:3 only as mom kept pestering me to take the 4pm Tea
although had resisted Lunch earlier

After 6pm mom reminded me to cook the leftover Dumplings/Siu Mai from Mon for dinner tonight
- heated up the 2 fish from my lunch too

Mom said got extra leftover rice n would do Fried Rice tomorrow - asked her to do for Diner instead as I will be out for My Double Spa Sessions from the morning ....but then again....got to confirm with mom whether she wants Beef Horfun to be tarpaued back from Mongkok Dimsum ......

Doesn't look very healthy leh. Where are the fibres? Also, dough skin is lots of flour, which is carbohydrates, lol.

Fried food also not very healthy.

The one posted by blinkywink looks better and healthier.

Yup her item looks great !

Already replied earlier that the flour [1/4 cup ?] + water in just 7 wrappers each can't be more than 8-15 grams carbs there
----> so relatively still LC bah
Much less carbs compared to half bowl rice/noodles or bread etc
Anyway will say this meal is More Meat Proteins

I did not do deep frying
just shallow pan-frying in very little healthy coconut oil as using a non-stick skillet there combined with 'steaming' with some water there to slow-cook the dumplings

Got veg fibres inside the meat filling - got chopped water chestnuts + mushrooms + onion
(This time round mom kept forgetting to get the green spring onion chives for me)

I prefer my Shanghai Dumplings pan-fried as more fragrant with a crusty outside and can dip into the yummy Black Vinegar Ginger Dip easily too - meatballs 'messier' to make and being soupy they'll dilute the vinegary dip too - esp with the water chestnuts & mushrooms will be harder to 'shape' the meatballs there

There's a way to keep the meatballs in shape and shape them. My father always make meatballs soup without the meatballs going haywire. Only once in a blue moon then make dumplings.

Not sure if I see wrongly. Your dumpling crust seemed like burnt/ chaotar. From the pics, the crust appeared black. Rightfully the crust should be golden brown.

Dun consume too much of chaotar bits, no good for health.

Fats from farm mass raised animals do not count. If you wanna eat high fat, you gotta be prepared to spend more on organic fat or the low term will kill you. No easy way out.

Wa - your eyes so sharp LOL

Yalor was 'away' busying with other things for 'too long' - forgot to turn heat down too
so the bottoms there got burnt lor [compared to Mon's dumplings]

Mom refused to eat those darkish parts n removed those [saying if hungry later to go eat slice of bread - but luckily since piled her with some fruit she seemed OK]
