A nostalgia trip down SG memory lane.

Long before your time.... (Tv reference)
Spoiler!

Food cost at most only $2, cigarettes cost only around $2+.
The MRT only went from Yishun to Raffles place.

North:
Spoiler!

East:
Over in the east, Changi Airport only had one terminal, with the iconic control tower seen well into the distance.
Spoiler!

West:
Over in the west, Jurong was still new.
Spoiler!

South:
Over in the south, the rocky beach of Marina bay, the only way in was to take a bus from raffles place.
Spoiler!

Life was simpler then, the concept of FT was only ADMK, SPGs go after them, Tradition still stands.

HDB was new, with a few exceptions, all HDB smells like new blocks, there werent laws like loitering, littering, spitting, illegal gatherings, etc.

Fashion was simple, all you need is a shirt, tuck out, unbutton 3 buttons, regardless guy or girl, if long sleeve fold up till smart 4 style.

Women were fascinated with the Beng concept, you can pretty much sleep with 3 different girls per week. Age ranging from early teens to twenties. (Dont give me that moral crap, at that time all you interested in is to wet your pecker, as long as you dont vomit looking at her, anything goes. FaF was the standard of the day.)

Gaming was still in its infancy, hand held was only Nintendo, console was only Segar, arcade was the normal gaming concept during that time.

Macdonalds, KFC, BK, A&W cost only $5 then, guaranteed full.

Hawker food definitely more then 5 mouthfuls.

People didnt have the get the hell out of SG mentality.

Small things like you actually know your neighbors, unlike nowadays you hardly interact with them.

Normal mode of transport was the open air bus, for long distances, your butt hurts like hell.

NTUC was the most common supermarket, Oriental emporium was the most common store, Metro was the place to spurge.

Sentosa was most famous for its fountain lights show.

Gangsters at that time actually had purpose with a focus on command and conquer.

Tuas at that time was most famous for its seafood restaurant.

There is actually something called the Tang Dynasty.

Plenty of past things lost in the void of time, lets see what you all remember of the past, things you look back on, miss, etc....

The 90’s really were a special time for those of us who were lucky enough to live through them. Now that many millennials have left college and are trying their best to be functioning adults, more and more people are waxing nostalgic about the carefree days of this decade. It was an age of Pokémon cards and Beanie Babies, of the SNES and Sega Megadrive, Buffy, The X-Files, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Windows 95. It was a time when cable TV was still considered a luxury, and when Blockbuster was a thriving business and not a VHS rental relic.

Perhaps it’s because the information age has accelerated at a dizzying pace since then, and online meme culture has only become more ironic, that people have an emotional attachment to a more manual era. If you fancy revisiting your childhood then why not hop in our time machine and scroll down to see some of best, most hilarious memes about 90’s culture? I bet any money you’ll feel ancient by the time you reach the last page.

The point is to share the past, nothing wrong with looking back on good things.
