I think this is website to check your average consumption for your fridge, TV, aircon. A better gauge and average reading. My fridge reads $125/yr, 580kwh a year

Geneco off peak 50% offer will not last. If everybody shifted their power consumption to 12-6, they will bleed to death.

Please recommend me one. I have been trying to look for an affordable, certified and easily available one that does not melt at that current draw for years now.

They won't. They own the second largest power station in Singapore, surely they know better than to sell a non profitable plan.

Their main business still industrial and business, Their big customers are Courts. Courts uses loads of electricity to power their shops and TVs. So that can offset the residential loss.

The load 12am-6am is the least throughout entire island, so they are now diverting energy usage to off-peak. So they can balance, in the end, earn more.

USA also got similar plan, but i think for such plan, in the end also similar or even more exp than those 20% throughout the day 1. you will be surprised with the consumption results

understand this part, because 6am-12am it's only 10%. During that period, no much aircon is used. Perhaps only desktop pc, TV.

But what im concern is the 6hours which i will have 3x 9,000 BTU aircon on during that time. And afternoon, maybe only 1 on for a few hours. Much of my usage falls during sleeping hours.

But then, 10% discount at $0.19 is better than SP rate of $0.2156 during the day

Oh why, i didn't use that before. But what i know, sometimes it takes time to heat up, end up wasting water.
U need a storage heater if u want to have hot tap in the kitchen sink or toilet basin. Also if u have a rain shower then u will need the storage heater as well.

So basically if we can have a huge battery like Powerwall and charge the power overnight (ie off peak) and use it during the day instead (ie peak period) then we should be saving alot?

I doubt so. Cost of powerwall probably takes a few years to recover, and if small lithium battery packs in PMDs are a fire hazard, what more a wall of it.

Not sure about gas storage water heater but the problem with storage heater is that if someone forgot to off the switch, it still "eat" the electricity even if nobody is bathing as it needs to maintain the temperature in the water tank.

Citygas heater which i'm using is a on demand rather than storage. No issue supplying hot water to my rainshower anyway.

I can safely say all HDB flats doesnt come with the hot piping for kitchen(If you want, need to get plumber to run externally). BTO will have one inlet for hot water which would then be channel to both mbr and common toilet shower + sink area.

For storage heater, a few of the reno ppl went for AOS digital. You can set the timer to auto start heating at a given timing(This can be a good thing for those plans with peak, off peak). Schedule heating before the end of the off-peak timing.
