I think we should compile a list of companies and hidden charges if any.
The regulator should not have allowed that from happening in the first place.

Just like GST charges, all supermarkets must indicate only the final charge.. why couldn't the energy regulator enforce that too?

Transmission loss factor will be applied on your metered usage.

So you can minus around 4% from the 21%
Thanks. How you obtain the 4%?

it is allowed... see the footnote (6) in the standard fact sheet template from the price comparison website:

The electricity retailer may require you to pay other fees and charges, including one or more of the prevailing market-related.
You may refer to http://www.openelectricitymarket.sg for more information on market-related charges.

Same... that's when I wonder if the 1st mth 50% would be prorated due to the billing cycle

there's really no point if the listed rates and discounts are more expensive than the competition

maybe TS can add a note in the first post warning about hidden charges and examples (transmission loss, MDSC charges, hardcopy bill, carbon tax)
I lost track liao. Anyone have the list of hidden charges by each retailer? So i can update the first post. So far, i know Keppel is Loss Transmission Charges...

Refer to this article on Serayaenergy's website.

230V / 400V | 1.037335 | 1.041758 | 1.038304

so basically they take your meter reading and multiply by around 1.04

Sunseap-Starhub
1) Same but 100% solar power
2) 20% off

100% solar.... That's not a plus.
I won't opt for it.

If 100% solar, the company should give a steeper discount. They should have a totally different tariff table.
