I suspect partly gotta do with that LJ TVB aeroplane show triumph in the sky got one captain JAYDEN koo.

The timing checks out as well. The show aired in 2014, causing a generation of kids between 0-4 years old to be named "Jaydens". And subsequently the mutants like Brayden, Kayden, xxxdens all come in.

That show got so popular meh? Frankly I dunno what started this trend, but trends have a tendency to develop a life on its own, may not have 1 single starting point.

Now parents use old names and change the spelling to give their kids unique names. Like David... They change to Davide, Davidd, Davidde... etc. But in the end pronounciation is all the same

since we are in the topic of names.. wanna get a feel of how people feel towards the name August? Short for Augustin/Augustus. For a boy, going to be born in the month of august. any negative feeling?

August itself means respected and impressive. Should be a fine name, but would be more satki with a den... maybe Auguden?

Well, August originally got its name because it was named after emperor Augustus...

I think Augustine is a reasonable name and a lot less blatant.
