SINGAPORE: A 19-year-old full-time national serviceman (NSF) died on Monday (Apr 30), nearly two weeks after "displaying signs of heat injury" in Bedok Camp, said the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) said in a news release.

Lee Han Xuan Dave, a Guardsman from the 1st Battalion Singapore Guards, had just completed an 8km fast march at about 8.35am on Apr 18 when he required medical attention.

A Singapore Armed Forces medic attended to him immediately to bring down his core temperature, said MINDEF. "PTE Lee was evacuated to the camp’s Medical Centre where body cooling measures and treatment were continued by the SAF medical team," it added.

He arrived at 9.50am at Changi General Hospital where he was warded in the Intensive Care Unit.

"Unfortunately, PTE Lee’s condition did not improve in the ICU and worsened during the hospitalisation," said MINDEF.

"The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman and are assisting the family in this time of grief."

Hmm. He fainted at 835 and arrived at CGH at 950.

From bedok to Changi and an ambulance always on standby at medical centre.

These are all the facts from news. We dont know whats in between.

I do agree we cant listen to only one side of the story. Many his platoon mate can testify so dun speculate too much.

Even if take Bus 10 from outside the camp, will only take at most 30 mins to reach CGH including waiting for bus.

In the comments section of CNA's report, one Roy Tong wrote :

. it was said the night before the 1st guards got turn out at 11pm and got tekan until 2 am. The next morning they had 8 km fast March at 5:30 am. Fast march is Marching at 16mins per 2 km carrying a 10kg load. This poor guardsman was having fever and he told his sergeant he was having a fever but his sergent did not care and ask him to carry on. He then forced himself to finish his 8km fast match but collapse after completing the march

If the officers names are true and the events are true it is likely to be true
Summon all the commanders involved and interrogate them.
True or not, the answer will be out in no time.
