Cause from young we drink milo.
Other countries they wan chocolate drink they have other options same price or cheaper and better.
Singapore only milo. Why?
Other cocoa options are ovaltine, varhona etc. but more ex. So wan cheap get milo.
If not wrong, ovaltine cheaper, milo more expensive now.

because ovaltine not available

I mean it is not a bad drink, although as one gets older, one will switch more to other drinks like coffee and tea.

But the overall popularity of Milo is just overwhelming in Sg. In terms of cups of Milo sold per person, I think we will have the highest ratio by far. Even if go Australia where Milo is invented, also dont see Australians drinking it so much compared to Sg.

You often see videos of tourists or expats on YouTube, wondering why Singaporeans are so obsessed with this drink called Milo. Even overseas people know that Milo is a national drink in Sg.

Any idea why Milo can be such a legendary drink in Sg?

Power of marketing and conditioning us since young. We were exposed to it since our school days, and learnt to associate the brand name 'milo' with sports and whatever good feelings we had during our sports day.

Upon further reinforcing us with ads on how great milo is across multiple platforms, making it easily accessible to us through coffeeshops and various outlets, it further strengthens the association that milo is good and tasty. Where parents may grow up influencing their child to drink it also.

Thus the highly successful marketing strategy of milo through the generations.

Back in the 70s, the obsession wasn't so extreme as there was a competitor in Ovaltine. The rest is history ....
