1) I was never a HR from one of the APF organzations.

2) What do you mean by 'How does they decide if one qualify'?

3) I used to apply for SO scheme, so board of interviewers consist of management which including HR (Not your Recruiter). I hear for JO, you only interview by one ASP who most likely your commander.
As for 2, it is meaning if hr is the first interviewer of checking colour blindness, bmi and when these passed, they let you go for medical checkup.

HR (Recruiter) will not be the 1st Interviewer. They will not do & will not check colour blindness, bmi & etc cause it is under medical checkup.

I cannot remember the steps in detail cause it happen a few years ago. If not wrong, first they call me down for interview & then call me go do medical checkup.

if u ae joining as a junior officer, i heard cisco is more interested in recruiting APOE for now. Their recruitment for APO will start sometime next year.

Dun get smoke by those recruiter saying your work days is 2 day 2 night 2 off. Basically it depend on the division u are posted to. most of them work on 5 or 6 days with 1 day off.

and depending on your DY. some of them will not entertain your request to change shift if u are assigned a permanent shift which u do not like.
any ideas when?

Been lurking in this thread for some time. I'm late 30s and after retrenchment, have difficulty finding job in my sector. Sent out many job applications but either rejected or no reply. Thinking of joining APO for the job stability. Partly i have interest in enforcement too.

Iím aware after reading this thread that APO is not easy. The shift work, shift hours, and reporting time before/after the actual shift, seems to turn a lot of people off. But for a desperate man with money in bank account draining, hungry means hungry and a job is a job.

Just curious to know a few things. I hope current and ex-officers can help shed some light:

1. Regarding the APO(armed) training for someone with no security background, is it 8 or 9 weeks?
2. During this training, is it die-die must stay in Monday to Friday, no nights out or nights off? If thereís no training at night, can we go out and do our own thing and book in 2359?
3. Is the training held at a comfortable pace, or is it super rush like morning 6am fall in, then lessons all the way chepat jalan from Point A to Point B?
4. Are the trainers professional or do they act like king and tekan trainees, knock it down that sort?
5. The bunk accommodations, whatís it like for Certis and Aetos? I read that Cisco quite bad (old saf spring bed style) and humid.
6. Are trainees required to do area cleaning and wash toilet, stand by bed?

The thing that holding me backÖ in my late 30s and completed NS and reservist, the idea of repeating this 2 month stay-in and possibly tekan sessions is frightening. I know some will say itís only 2 months, endure. But iím just wondering if the training is actually pleasant or machiam like BMT/SISPEC style.

Thanks all!

1. Regarding the APO(armed) training for someone with no security background, is it 8 or 9 weeks? no need care how many weeks. just go through everything if u want the job. time will pass very fast. inside there is heaven.

2. During this training, is it die-die must stay in Monday to Friday, no nights out or nights off? If thereís no training at night, can we go out and do our own thing and book in 2359? discipline is lacking. for singaporeans, they dun check if u stay in or not as long as u not late for lesson.

3. Is the training held at a comfortable pace, or is it super rush like morning 6am fall in, then lessons all the way chepat jalan from Point A to Point B? relax like hell. just that there is a lot of role play crap.

4. Are the trainers professional or do they act like king and tekan trainees, knock it down that sort? sure got some areshole but u can dun bother too much with them. they cannot tekan u much.

5. The bunk accommodations, whatís it like for Certis and Aetos? I read that Cisco quite bad (old saf spring bed style) and humid. for cisco, stay in starts once u get clearance from spf but they dun bother to check even if u stay out as long as u not late for tomorrow training. those classified as qualified like ex spf or apo need not stay in.

6. Are trainees required to do area cleaning and wash toilet, stand by bed? mainly is the bunk. if u boh chap to stay in, u can dun even bother to help clean

I will like to know this too. Tried to google but can't find any in-depth information on this position. Wondering is the pay roughly the same as aetos & cisco
heard that sats pay is slightly higher but their assignment is mostly at east side. they are coming out with new policy for next recruitment

Hi all. For escort team, is it only available to aetos & cisco? For aetos, can we opt to join escort team after completing the training or its only for the management to choose who to go?

Just saw an expired ad that AETOS had a direct intake for outriders. Anyone know if it is still available?

Are you referring to the ad in ST for APO, then underneath they say outriders can apply too?

I messaged the contact, they didn't even know what i was talking about. i sent a screenshot, then after a while they returned my text and told me that is under APO. Have to go through the same training. I think best is to meet the recruiter in person and clarify and before signing anything, make sure that after training confirm will be posted to outrider. Later kena normal APO than llst.

Thanks bro cz287cj for your reply! Very helpful to know that training is not so ON like during NSF days.

Btw, anyone know where does SATS conduct their training? Do they outsource to certis/aetos or do they have their own program? Saw an advert and their requirement is for sgp only with higher pay.
