Should I apply for job through recruitment agency?

I've been searching for jobs thru sites like jobstreet and jobcentral but there's alot of recruitment agency posting and less of the hiring companies.

If I apply for the position from recruitment agency, what's the process like? Is it true that if I get successfully hired through agency, I need to pay them money?

No need to pay. Salary is lower. If desperate. Do what you can to survive.

Market now is no need to pay, but if want to quit within 3-6mths need to pay 1 mth salary.
Slightly lower than direct? maybe... maybe not depending on company, some company do not even do hiring themselves, all via agency. Company do have to pay for agent fee.
