La Liga giants Barcelona have announced they have completed the signing of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, and it could spell the end for ex-Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

According to reports in Spain the forward will wear the No.7 shirt currently occupied by the Reds' former playmaker.

Coutinho, who made the move from Anfield to the Camp Nou in 2018, initially wore the No.14 before being presented with the number seven.

AS have reported the World Cup winner with France will now occupy the No.7, which could hint at Coutinho's departure after a torrid couple of seasons in Catalunya.

Kia Joorabchian, Coutinho's representative, to Sky Sports: "Liverpool lies very deeply in his heart. He's a big fan of them. It would be very difficult for him to go to a direct competitor of Liverpool."

Barcelona still owe Liverpool €93,3M (£88,77M) for Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho. The Spanish club has a net debt of ‘€504M’, the objective in the last years was to reduce the debt to €200M and in reality they have almost double it. [@CuleManias]
No money to pay us fully still dare to target VVD... They can continue to dream on.

The Brazilian arrived at the Camp Nou a year and a half ago for 120 million euros, plus another 40m euros in bonuses.

The Guardian revealed the clauses, which seemed realistic at the time, but if he can be sold this summer it would save 25m euros for the Spanish club.

The 40m euros in variables are divided into 5m euros for qualification for the Champions League in his first year and another 5m euros for doing so in the second season, which is already achieved.

Another 5m euros come after playing 25 games, also achieved, but 20m euros will come after 100 games and another 5m euros for winning the Champions League.

With the situation as it stands, Coutinho has made 74 appearances for the club and would not surpass 77 this season, though nobody expected him to make fewer than 100 appearances before being sold when he was signed.

Liverpool are working on bringing back Philippe Coutinho to Anfield. The Reds have tabled a two year loan deal with an option to buy set at £88M. The midfielder has given his approval on the move, although the offer doesn’t attract Barcelona who prefer to sell. [@CalcioMercatoIT]
