another thing southgate did right was to choose the correct keepers. at least these 3 keepers are on form. much better than hart.

i also will choose smalling over stones. stones is awful. anyway england confirm gone case after group stage.
i actually quite worried for the keepers selection.

butland, pickford and pope like not much national experience. I would have picked hart for experience in the team though not necessary starts him.

concern is butland plays for stoke and keeps on conceding which relegates them, pickford's performance for everton not convincing also. Not sure about Pope cos I never watch Burnley games but he seems to be the most inexperienced goalkeeper among the 3.

sometimes really cannot understand mou.... many ppl can tell that Smalling's quality is not really elite, yet still keep on playing him week in week out after mistakes. If southgate can see smalling not good enough what makes mou think he is good enough for United XI? Would have keep playing Lindelof to develop him.

Thatís why Mou manages Man Utd while Southgate manages England.

23-man England squad
Goalkeepers: Jack Butland, Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Gary Cahill, Phil Jones, Harry Maguire, Danny Rose, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, Ashley Young

Midfielders: Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Jordan Henderson, Fabian Delph, Jesse Lingard, Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Forwards: Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling, Danny Welbeck, Jamie Vardy

Standby/Reserves: Tom Heaton, James Tarkowski, Lewis Cook, Jake Livermore and Adam Lallana

Looking forward to Rashford & Lingard performance in World Cup.
Great to see Young and Jones made it as well.
Quite a jialat squad lol. Seems they will play 3 at the back. Lack of natural wingers, most likely rely on wing-back only.

Some of the outfield names in Englandís provisional 2006 World Cup squad:

G. Neville
Terry
Ferdinand
Campbell
Carragher
A. Cole
Lampard
Gerrard
Carrick
Beckham
Hargreaves
Owen
Rooney

makes the current squad looks like league 2.

Play for England also no pride or glory sure cannot challenge for trophies. Rest at home better than going world cup and getting injured. Jones gg will get dumb injuries playing for England again.

Cahill stones are subs at Chelsea n City. Maguire at leceister which conceded 60 goals. Walker plays as an attacking right back for city and southgate wants to play him as a centre back when his defending is ****.

PhilJ gets picked? We probably won't see him much next season again then, he'll probably get himself injured during WC if he doesn't suffer one in training first. His appearance/injury ratio is probably worse than JonnyEvans.
Maybe the England manager is building for the future. I'll watch them just to see what kind of goals they'll leak. Even if our own doesn't think ChrisS is good enough, he's a better choice than many other English defenders.

well mou only has jones, rojo, lindelof, smalling, bailly to pick from.

southgate has the whole nation's defenders to pick from.

wouldn't you choose the supposedly better ones(in your opinion) instead of only picking utd players in this situation?

its not as if smalling is the best of the bunch in england

I have a question for those who watch our games with ElevenSport.

Thinking to get a WC pass that comes with MUTV. Will it show all the United games through out the season?

The commentary is done by United's own commentary team? Or is it SKY/BT, etc? Cos United commentary team sucks.
