Last time Beckham had celebrity lifestyle and always in the media too. However, his hard work and dedication to his primary career football makes him well respected even among his peers. Also allows him to play well into late 30s. Same with Ronaldo now. So much media hype, big ego, but his dedication means players and coaches love him.

Nowadays the players dabble in the limelight and you hardly hear them put in extra shifts to work on their fundamentals. Even if they were hardworking in their youth, the moment they got into main squad just stopped their dedication
