Talking

Hi Everyone. Found this page whilst googling.

I have been shaving for many years now using the standard multiblade shavers (i.e. gillette 3 blade types) but i have been having tiny pimples just above the chin/under the mouth area for the longest time.

After googling, it seems that shaving with a single blade might actually help. But i am quite new to the whole thing.

Would really appreciate it if the brudders here could help with my noob questions (below) or point out to a post that i can refer to.

1. Will shaving with a single blade help my sensitive skin?

2. What do i need to start wet shaving and where can i get the equipment?

3. Is it difficult/dangerous to shave this way?

Thanks in advance everyone!

2. PM Squared_circle if his give away still avail.

U only need a brush (eg Semogue boar 1305, 1800, 830 or Omega 10066), razor some blades and soap.
else U can buy from connaughtshaving or theenglishshavingcompany or italianbarber.
some stuff U can get a Mustafa

2017 has been great for me, at least career wise if not on a personal level.
I do have more Gillette razors than face to shave with and some other soaps lying around so I would like to PIF some of it away. My only wish is that this goes to someone who is not working at the moment (student or retiree) or at least newly employed. I'm able to meet you on the weekend around Bedok / tamp or town area.

What I can give are 2 sets, each of the following
2 used Gillette razor. One aggressive one mild (both in user grade to slightly better condition)
1 soap minimum.(New and unused)
1 used brush ( if you are interested- otherwise I would suggest Mustafa)
Assortment of blades (new obviously)
A small amount of aftershave ( this I got to check again)
Bits of menthol crystal

PM me if interested.
Edit: of course I hope you don't have any DE equipment yet and are new to this but just didn't have the final push to try it out.

3. try getting a mild razor such as Mamba (see review below) or rockwell (https://rockwellrazors.com/). Feather DS is nice but costly.
many ppl like myself starts with EJ89 some merkur 34c but I get cuts. something mild will ease U in. these days I shave freq with my rockwell or Feather.

Just wondering if anyone else has gotten his hands on the new Razorock Mamba. For those who don't know it, it's meant to be an affordable (US$50 instead of >US$100 for most big brands) all-stainless-steel razor. It's made by a small manufacturer in Canada and is sold exclusively on the Italian Barber online store. So far, two batches have been launched and they were both sold out within a day. I was fortunate to grab one during the second launch, and the razor arrived yesterday via EZBuy

The first impression on the razor is that it's very well machined, certainly looks above its price point. The "Made in Canada" label and the unique serial number at the back give it a premium feeling.

For my first shave with the razor, I paired it up with a new Astra SP blade, as I read on American forums that this razor is on the mild side and should be used with a sharper blade.

After a full shave, I have to say that it is indeed pretty mild. After my normal two passes (with the grain and against the grain), I had to do a significant amount of touch ups. Though that may be due to the fact that I'm unfamiliar with the effective angle of this new razor.

On the positive side, this razor is impressively forgiving/smooth. At times, I couldn't feel the blade on my skin at all. More impressively, I got a decently close shave without any nick or razor burn. That says a lot, as new Astra blades always give me some problems when used in my Parker 24C.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this purchase. Although the Mamba is a little less efficient than my Parker, it more than makes up with its smoothness.

Thanks bro. Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately I am not a student or unemployed person so I think not very nice for me to accept when he can PIF it to another person who is more in need.

I decided to buy from a brick and mortar shop. How is the pricing and service at What He Wants . It came up in a Google search, think the shop is at Cathay. Also, can anyone recommend shaving cream and after shave for very sensitive skin?

Thanks guys.

If they let u test drive b4 buying will be great service. I got mine online so cannot comment

After shave can use toner and facial moisturizer
I donít see a need to apply after shave, toner and moisturizer

Thanks for the advice!
on their site they only carry EJ so lack of selection.

new and sensitive skin, I will go for a mild razor.
Blade selection also important, don't go with the sharpest feather blades.
u may want to buy a Alum Stick/block in case u have cuts

look at reviews.

again if store lets u try or have return policy great. else not sure what is the adv of getting from a brick and Mortar store.

handle your non steel razor with care, I drop my EJ89 on the floor and broke the razor.

Edwin Jagger English brand usually cheapest in UK.

I wonder if you guys can help me

1) My facial hair grew like crazy but I'm balding , is wet shaving recommended for daily used?

2) I have very sensitive skin, probably some kinda skin problem I have, some kinda of Dermatitis disorder.

3) Cost vs other methods?

4) Can I get it locally or it's too expensive to do so?

1) yes, it's suitable!
2) u can get those shaving soap that is meant for sensitive skin
3) it's way much cheaper compared to cart razors in the long run and much more enjoyable
4) some items like shaving soap, Aftershave can get locally at Mustafa. Razors and shaving brush get from online cheaper and much more selection

6S stainless steel drop will not break
6C is like your cheap EJ

Iirc they sell direct thru their USA online store
If you find local selling may have to pay middle men fees
