Personally, i do. Because i believe that its hard to style air-dried hair. Guys (assuming with short to medium length hair) dont and cant bun up our hair like what girls usually do. Hence, after allowing it to air-dry, it will definitely be flat and factoring in the consideration that asian hair texture is straight, its gonna to be worse. So i usually take a short shower to have damp hair then apply seasalt spray or other styling products (if need to) onto damp hair. And style as normal. It will look more natural and at least for me, easier to style too. Of course there are 1001 methods of doing so. As long as you can find the method for you then BINGO.
then do you shampoo during the short shower?

Nah.. Can't be bothered to =X
If oily got quicksand to use as dry shampoo. If flat got powder. If out of place got sea spray.
good idea.. never thought of it
morning wake up don't shower? so lup sup? then just use hairdryer blow, until 80% dry then style. some times I oversleep so I might just shower and leave my hair as it is when I am exercising or playing sports -- un-styled
morning wake up dont shower cos i'd rather spend more time sleeping.
I tot of, if you wash your hair before you style. Hair would be more softer and easier to style? I usually can't style properly if I nv wash or rinse water with my hair.
for me, i compared showering before styling and no shower before styling, what i found out was shower before styling makes my hair stay. i think its because my oily hair sort of prevents the wax from bonding.

but i'll take deaththeorist's advice, very interesting

lol! put into blender?!?! are u serious? is it ever possible to clean it enough to put food inside after u are done with this?
if u can blend a garlic sauce in it, then wash it enough for a smoothie, you're probably fine.

also, really so scared just use shampoo la! designed to clean hair products rite? hahaha blend shampoo for FOAMY GOODNESS!

but really, blending works people! hair wax is like mayonaise. if u leave it for too long the polar and non-polar stuff will separate. just gotta mix them back in! did this for my redken no.24 gel wax years ago. i dont even think its sold anymore ... max hold on their scale....

POWERPOINT HAIR SPRAY REVIEW!!!

Wassup guys! Yet another simple review from me. (Not sure why am i doing this because LeeJhong aka Dior Model has already covered most of the things i want to say but nevertheless, i will say what i thought of it as a end-user/consumer pov )

Anyway, this PowerPoint Hair Spray is from Japan and the company that does this is call Feeling. Huge bottle. 400g of goodness inside. Probably can last me a good 4-6 months cause I will only use hair spray when i am partying or going out over the weekends. Everyday user can expect a usage duration of at least 2 - 4 months. I explain why the duration can be so long later in the review.

This review will be a direct comparison to OSIS+ Freeze Number 3 because i own it before the powerpoint and since ever since i got the powerpoint, the osis+ has pass on to my younger brother. haha

Let's get started shall we?

First impression - Huge ass spray can. After i got it from JH, i straight away go back to my office toilet and give it a try. The thing i like most the first time i use it is the spray nozzle. It has a wider and stronger distribution of the liquid product. Comparing to what osis+, it distributed better and as well wider. Osis+ nozzle tends to concentrate on a smaller area. Also the pressure is also stronger for power point. This means all it takes is 2-3 sprays and the entire head will be covered.
+1 for Power Point

The smell, let's see, i think it smells very similar to how a salon will smell with all the pleasant scent of shampoos and conditioner. Kinda sweet but not exactly feminine. Osis+ has its own unique smell too. To me, both are nice. no clear winner over here.
Draw!

Now the most important part - The hold!
Osis+ as we all know is meant to be really strong and have awesome control. But for most of the guys here, we do not have really SPIKED up hair like freaking mohawk. All we need and want is our hair to stay as it is after we style it. Best is have good control over strong winds or humid weather that will break down the hair product we have in our hair.
Osis+ freeze does what its name says, IT FREEZES your hair. Leaving it gelled up, stiff and look un-natural. For one, having a huge spiked mohawk is already un-natural. And you can't really restyle your hair or rake your hair because it's totally stiff. Osis+ also has a certain amount of shine when you use it and take a certain time to get it fully dry.
OSIS+ can be a little heavy and my hair tends to flop after awhile. Not the entire fringe but small bunches of hair will flop

However, for power point hair spray, the selling point is that it's lightweight and at the same time, strong hold and control.
Even with the strong winds in tanjong pagar, my hair stays on to be how it looks when i styled it. Pretty awesome i would say.
When i used it, it dries up pretty quickly. I tried touching my hair after a while, i can feel that my hair turns thick, meaning the hair spray has settled in and holding on to my hair. I kinda like the feeling because it shows that whenever i move my hair, it wouldn't flop. Here comes the amazing part, this hair spray is pliable, i can restyle anytime i want, bunching up my hair or raking is not an issue! No flakes or what also ever and my hair is never stiff or gelled up but yet i am amazed that its strong enough to hold it against wind (not typhoon kind ah! lol)
As of now, i don't see my fringe flopping in bunches. So far so good!
There's also a certain amount of shine but really low as compared to osis+

+1 POINT GOES TO POWERPOINT YET AGAIN!

By the way, both products are tested on a simple quiff that i usually have. the standard you guys always see if you have been following this thread closely.

As we can see, a clear winner! I will recommend power point hair spray for anyone who wants light weight but yet strong control for your hair. Something that most of us wants here is to keep our hair style fixated the whole day looking natural instead of looking stiff or gelled up.

Huge ass bottle - why it can last because just a simple 2-3 sprays is enough, you don't need extra sprays because more sprays means more product on your hair which will lead to added weight and there you go again, hair flopping.

A picture of the bottle (not exactly a guy color but as long it does its job, who cares! it stored at home anyway!)
Don't mind my office desk, govt budget cannot afford monitor stand for me. haha

The power of the Sea Salt Spray.

I have seen endless recommendation and questions of sea salt spray. Let's clear this once and for all so that people will know the power of it!

This is done via OS sea salt spray by Leejhong aka the pretty jerk aka dior model!
pretty awesome product. Lasted me since March 2013 till now, still got abit left.
The link!
http://theprettyjerk.com/product/os-...ea-spray-200ml

First thing sea salt spray gives is volume. most of us asian has flat hair, even with hair dryer, it's difficult to achieve the voluminous hair like what a Caucasian can get. It's practically a life saver product for us!

Second, it's a pre-styling product which means it can used before you use wax/clay/pomade to style your hair. It's usually used when you towel dried your hair and before blowing your hair.

Third, it gives you a outline or shape of the style you are looking for when blow drying. The shape will pretty much stay after blow drying because sea salt spray has a certain amount of hold but not strong enough to be used as a main styling product for us guys. We will need a final styling product to finish up the styling.

Fourth, it dries your hair pretty much and with dry hair, the use of wax/clay/pomade will be easier to apply and hold of such products will be better (quote from my old stylist and it's true and i live by it). It also gives additional holding power that complements the wax/clay/pomade.

Ok now to GPGT!

The flatness of my hair after showering!

After using sea salt spray and blow drying my hair, this is what i get! No comb or round brush involved. Only my hair dryer, my hands and myself! LOL

Since i already met most of you guys, i exposed myself. hide also no use! Next time see me can say Hi or when getting gold digger can recognize me! LOL
This is what i got after using sea salt spray > blow dry > sponge wax > gold digger > Powerpoint hair spray (alot of products but all done in 5-10mins) I style it to be slightly less pomp. haha. cannot pull off too pomp!

The sad thing is that I wish I have my hair grow back . Im 23 this year and having thinning hair in the middle plus M shape is killing my confidence . I started losing hair 2 to 3 years back . Family doesnt have any hair loss problems . Recently started to use minoxidle 2% .
I do the comb over style so that my forehead doesnt look too high .

Can I purchase this sea salt spray at pharmacy store like guardian or watsons? Is there any hairstylist that can recommend with skills to overcome my hair situation?

bangs tends to falls and doesnt hold on place . Any help is greatly appreciated.

No, i dont shampoo during the short shower. As mentioned before, i feel shampoo once a day is in fact adequate. Excessive shampoo-ing will lead to hair fall. And yes, you should try out what death bro said. There is no dogmatic approach on what to do and instead, it should be finding out the way that best suits you.

Kudos to our gaoxing bro once again for his reviews. A simple yet comprehensive comparison towards OSIS+ Session Finish (3). Thumbs up!

However, just a slight correction to ensure no confusion to those who are using OSIS+. In the review above, i believe Gaoxing meant OSIS+ Session Finish (3) and not OSIS+ Freeze. OSIS+ Freeze comes with strength control 2 (medium-control) instead.

I'm a noob when it comes to scent but honestly, your hair brings out quite abit of smell, of course depending on how well your hair absorbs the shampoo and hair spray's scent. With such fruity scent, you mix with a musky cologne, I would the say the smell would be a little weird smelling.

Just my 2c.

Scent for the night:

If you're referring to OS Fashion Sea Spray, then you can't really purchase them off drugstores in SG. Its a homegrown brand in UK and its generally less known in the industry. I pm-ed you instead. Take a look!

Once again, we reached the topic of hairstylists. As recommended by the bros over here, Koba (FEP), Lacoco (Orchard Central) or perhaps Shirley Mah (Lakeside) can be considered. Ultimately, there are a lot of hairstylists out there for you to look at. IMO, the crux don't lie on the hairstylist. What they can do for you is temporary which means they can only help to mitigate your situation by covering it up skilfully. U should consider finding out the root cause of your situation.

And with regard to your bangs, isn't bangs supposed to be lying down in the first place? Or you are just referring to typical hairstyle with fringe lying down? Anyway, just a side note since we are on here. With bangs, one shouldn't use too much styling products such as wax/clay or hairspray to style the fringe. Because it isnt natural to begin with, the more you apply onto your fringe, its gonna to appear even more unnatural. Let it move and swing with bangs and bring out the different side of you.
