Yeap bro if you want a voluminous hairstyle , have it thinned out. Density will make our hair want to lay flat even more cos of all that weight.

A lot of pple use YouTube as a gauge, but our hair type isn't like the angmohs on youtube haha, they can have super dense and thick hair but it already has a lot of natural volume and height.
have it thinned out in Chinese means 'jian bao'? dk how to tell the stylist haha

Get the right foundation of your haircut and the next step of styling will be super easy.
Super thick hair like mine needs a proper trimming once every 2-3 weeks,
Getting volume and to make it last for the day,
I usually focus on my prestyling more than the post style.
Depending on every respective hair types, not every hair works the same with just SSS on it. Some need a little more density/structure (for me) like Anti Gravity/Meraki/Mad Wax and use them as prestyler, blow it dry while shaping like Joe Blumaan did and just small bits of your post product to clean it up.
what hairstyle do you rock bro?

How about Pop Up Matte Paste? Anyone got experience with that?
Pop Up Pomade & Matte Paste? Same MIC.
Exact same false marketing like Goldfingers and Quincy who states "Premium" but
very same gel/wax formula. You recede and damage your hair faster if you keep using it.

Mankind Pomade Brands too. saw them at several salon/barbershops which is a major disappointment.

Usual side fade with medium length top. Able to style in clean look or volume look, depending on product use.

Does it feels "hardens" and fixed after using it?
and do you have that super dry feeling after using it?

so its been 2 weeks plus of using Firsthand water based pomade and overall it has a good hold but after few hours, my hair loses its volume. I blow dry and spray sss before applying. (mayb Im doing it wrongly?) My hair is fine and limp so I feel maybe clay is more suitable for me.

any clay to recommend beside Stickmore and Indians? looking for matte finish and strong hold while providing good volume. How's flagship clay?
Is it i misunderstand or did you not blow dry your hair after applying SSS? Need to blow dry it with some medium heat at least to activate the effect i think.

Recently i have been waking up late so i have little time for a proper hair regime.
Found something that works surprisingly ok for me.
Got the Shishedo power spray or something previously when i saw it on sale on Shopee (bro LJH carries it as well).

So i din have time to wash/wet my hair, nor to blow dry it. I just see that my hair din look too oily or limpy in the morning, so used the spray, 2 - 3 sprays in my hair and tussle it like a pre-styler. din have to blow dry.
Then end off with a little MM TSB. Somehow i think this works better for me than a SSS then MSB. The volume was great, and TSB still make sure there is some texture and hold (not high hold). Din finish with a spray just to see how it holds up during the day, so far so good.

I believe most effective to spray after towel dry. Not wet. Just towel dry. Just follow the bottle instructions. Perhaps certain brand require hair to be bone dry?

SSS is liquid and not mist. Principle is to apply liquid based products on damp hair for best results. Likewise, dry textured products on dry hair. So you just have to apply SSS on damp hair (after shower) and blow dry.
