Seems like the seiko nowadays are getting less and less affordable compared to the past.

At first I aiming the bb chrono, then after reading the owners review... I understand what the problem with this watch.

The FREAKING hour hand is too large and cover up the subdial counter! This render the watch functions useless at times. Daytona have no issue because the hands are "thin" enough.

Big design mistake by Tudor! There is a reason why this model don't sell well.

See example below

I decided with the BB Steel instead.

Wow kyo san thats sad. I was looking at 2019 chrono S&G as below. Seems like the tudor design mistake you mentioned still not corrected yet!

I feel they are doing some rebranding and product differentiation, attacking all levels of the market.

Seiko 5 - Affordable range. Vs Fossil, Arbutus, Sovil Et Titus, fashion watches, etc

Seiko Prospex, Presage - Entry luxury range. Vs Tudor, Tissot, Tag, Ball, Hamilton, etc

Seiko Astron - Tech range. Vs G-Shock, Timex, Citizen, etc

GS - Middle luxury range. Vs Rolex, Brietling, IWC, Omega, etc

Credor - Top range. Vs Big 3.

I predict we’ll see prices continue to increasely expensive models in the Prospex/Presage and GS lines.

The older models before the rebranding will likely be in an awkward position for 2nd hand pricings.

My sentiments exactly. Have been like this in recent years. Seiko no longer produces skx, monster, samurai this range of watches in the $300 - $500 price bracket.

Best OVM version - if they tweaked the hands it would be perfect!

Exactly. Miss the good old times when you can get a 6RXX movt around 500-600. Heard the new 6R movt is now 1.3k although it comes with a 70HR PR and sapphire crystal now but is the increase in price worth it?

Yea for the same price, you could either get a brand new one with 4R movt but if you go for preowned, you could get one with 6R movt instead.

Think the hands are good, the pip at 12o'clock is what most comment on though.
