so after reading for quite awhile the conclusion is no buy no loss? since no matter buy which one when economy go sour all the price will drop regardless of which brand right.. nothing is safe
no sell no loss as well

Not everything is resale value, but do you want to come out of ownership of it looking like a fool? A fool and his money are soon parted, my friend.
Crux of the matter here
No matter how u justify your position, it comes back to this, u cannot stomach losing the significant amt of money over watches.
Some can spend the 6k buying a solid tudor, some rather spend on vacations, some go on fine dining and whiskey appreciation, and I can tell u if you enjoy all the them, u won’t come out looking like a fool.
You will look like a fool spending your whole life calculating whether the things u have done brings you monetary ROI.
And if u have been fiscally responsible to save up for it, what is the problem with splurging on the intangibles

The difference between you and that cbk is that you don't talk big.

That cbk has been talking big for years and what has he got to show?

$89 also want to hiam, lol.

People's money also want to comment, what car you drive? Where you stay? Where did you eat for the last week? Come let everyone here comment on your life choices too.
If one dares to GPGT, one must be prepared for comments.

Can't take the heat, then don't.

None, any normal person in private sector would have sufficient savings in preparation for such a day.

Are you civil servant? Lol.

Where's your GPGT?

Can't take the heat, then don't give.
I already said I had many worthless watches. All sold liao. I never talk big. In fact I admitted right from the start that I lost a lot of money and it hurt me.

I would sell my precious rarely worn grand Seiko which i buy brand new from Ad at $8k. Hopefully can break even or profit and fingers crossed if pawnshop will accept it when in need of cash.

Haven't you read the papers? Our 3 banks and MAS already admitted some time ago that the majority of Singaporeans are over leveraged. One month's salary away from bankruptcy.

You must be thinking Singapore is still in the 80s when everyone was prudent and shiat.

I can't wait for the carnage.
