give and take... Certain things are cheaper but there is also items that are veri expensive.
Of course. Every place has its good and not so good parts.

Truth be told, I love the lifestyle in the west coast of US. I hope in my later years, I can figure out a way to spend equal amounts of time between here and there.

$100k a year is USD$8.4k a month eh, I don't mind getting half of that for my first job

Possible to disclose which sector she working in? General is fine, don't need to go into specifics.
100k but tax is at ~30-35%, a bedroom rental is ~usd$3k cost of gas etc higher than most states. One cannot really have high quality lifestyle. My colleague grad from Stanford masters 3-4 yrs in still cannot afford a place to settle down. Avg cost of a house is the usd$2M

Yup.

Haha, yes I'm aware of that. Still, having lived in other countries for substantial amounts of time, the grass is not greener on the other side. At least for me.

My eldest is working at her first job in San Francisco. Pays her US$100k a year. She doesn't even get to smell almost half of it.

What can S$80 buy a year in the US? Certainly not a membership to a clubhouse with pretty much top quality facilities.

And no, I voted opposition during the last election.
You do know what would happen to your taxes if the opposition has their way, right?

An Omega PO is where my heart is ...

Realised I missed this watch quite a bit after forcing myself to wear my Rollies, IWC and Seamaster Bond Chronograph for the past few days. Absence makes the heart fonder?

With that budget probably on Casio watches perhaps

Model? IWC probably loses 20% the moment u buy it

I think the ranking of value retention goes to Panerai in 2nd after Rolex in 1st.

Bedroom rental is USD$3k?????? Bro are you sure LOL and I highly doubt a house can cost usd$2m ah, unless you buying some 10 bedroom house LOL. Quick google check, 4 bedroom house in NY $500k 4 bedroom house for sale in Garnerville, New York, USA

Where your colleague staying for a 2mil house LOL
