Moi find age of decadance boring and overrated. :(

Seem to moi there is a lot of potential but maybe due to limitation of time and resources the dev didn't fully utilize those potential and felt many of the end-game and contents are rushed and unfinished.

Biggest flaw ish no have companions system. Really epic fail to exclude companion in such game like already taking out half the fun of praying such RPG. Felt si pek lonely praying that game with only your MC hacking around in TB. :(
Sigh.... Dang.... Really miss old school rpgs with good stories....

So far really only wasteland 2 and DD:OS a bit more memorable... Witcher series has good story but I don't really dig the gameplay

Moi think the praise on age of decadance ish more on the good writing (but no voice acting for most so doubt ginna pi nowadays got the patient to wolsly read through) and also the freedom of choice in the way you choose to approach a mission. (But many of these choices also limited by your character skills). Kind of remind moi the freedom of old FO1&2 where it ish possible to resolve quests without the need of hacking and slashing. But other than that the combat part is very boring and straight forward hack & slash though you still need some tactical planning as the difficulty quite hard, very easy to up lorry if you just cheong ahead and hack since you only have one beat 10 NPC in most cases. :(

Anyway you can try Thea of Awakening. The combat is TB and card based so might not be fun for some as card based system always rely too much on luck.

This game in short ish you run a village of surviving adventurers and crafters\gatherers after an apocalypse event hit the fantasy world. You need to form a balanced group of party from the initial survivors to venture out to collect resources such as crafting material and also food and wood. (this part pray a bit like those Civilization type of game, you move 'chess pcs' of your party on a hex world map to a hex with resource you want and then establish a camp to gather the resources. The longer you stay the more resources you can gather over time. The max number of resources ish limited by the carrying weight of your party.

If you run out of food and wood your village and starve and\or freeze to death.

If your party member died, they are gone for good. You will then need to recruit fresh blood. (New villagers are randomly 'grew up" if you have kids or recruited through random events)

You can also build improvement to your village (but the building system very basic and not much interactive option offered after built)

There ish also a story driven main quest (IMO not great but still okay story) and numerous random side quests that your party can perform as your party explore the world map. (Again too much randomness on when how events happen)

But the game can be very difficult and frustrating if you start on higher difficulty though.

Thea: The Awakening? Haha it's on my wishlist as well, even though it's only $20... kinda waiting to see if it will go on sale during X'mas.... Thanks for the recommendation!! :s12::s12:

Not sure if it is my lack of patience with games but combat feels very boring and repetitive.... Think now along the lines of old school RPG from Taiwan than JRPG

No fast travel as well.

It's more like a traditional JRPG with lots of story dialogue and hidden sidequests.

Played on a psp.
