That 'windows 10 pro' requirement will drastically shorten your list of possible buying options. Most consumer laptops ship with windows home not windows pro.

What do you strictly need Win10 pro for anyway? Does your laptop need to have stuff like group policy management or remote desktop

Other than that office use is pretty light anyway, any laptop will work. I mean think about it whats the most demanding thing you could possibly be doing other than MS Excel?

Also you may wanna recheck your budget. You are most certainly not getting a 512GB SSD and Windows 10 Pro edition in a laptop if youre only willing to pay at most 1.5k for it.

Only cheap way(within your budget) that i could think of would be to:

1) Carouhell a win10 pro key(word of caution: some keys can be buggy, didnt work for me, and alot of other ppl online)

2) Buy the lowest specced cheap laptop(HDD, no ssd)

3) Buy a cheap 512gb ssd off amazon for 160 SGD

4) Ownself install the SSD inside the laptop

EDIT: Actually Aftershock sells the P-14 configured with i7, 512 ssd and win10 pro for 1.46k. Could check that out.

If for business use, don't get Windows 10 keys from Carousell and etc.
If get caught by MS audit, penalty can be severe.
TS got two choice either buy pre-owned laptop from PCthemes
or consider Thinkpad A485 laptop.
However if you opt for Windows 10 pro, it will increase the price.

Do you need pro in the first place? If you don't have domain
or need feature like remote desktop than home edition will do.
But again depend on your IT infra which I doubt you have one
in place.

Just curious, what would the penalty be? Lock the OS and force the user to buy a new one? I'm guessing its a rare occurrence anyway if not we'd see loads of ppl online flaming microsoft lol. The market for grey-market windows keys is huge.

Grey market key is huge, home use is fine but for business is no no.

I'm looking this laptop to use for non profit association daily operation. Do excel work, registration for member attendance.

I was told by one of the members, association or organisation must use pro version. Home version is only for home use. I'm not so sure how true

Sounds like that member who talked to you has no idea what he/she is talking abt. Thats such a simple usecase that wouldnt require win 10 pro.

1. they are not sponsoring your laptop i presume, i.e. you pay the cost of the laptop

2. getting windows 10 pro is extra cost

3. if the cost is not justifiable there is no sense in paying extra for windows 10 pro

4. if the person cannot cite the technical feature in Pro that is needed, then they are making you pay extra for nothing. Up to you if you want to concede to such a demand, it is your budget and your choice.

Whoever told you this is incorrect.
For business, not necessary must use Win pro.
Even in some of my IT project, some assets are using home.

Why? They are using segregated network and does not want
to be connected to domain. Mainly for site work and
testing purposes.

As shared, if you don't have a IT infra in place than home will do fine.

Win10 Pro --> Seriously No given your need.

With that, I'd strongly suggest going with a bigger screen with a good screen. FHD is min and good graphics card (not for gaming level but good).

You may filter in lazada or Amazon with the specs to shortlist then compare around. I'd look the likes of Dell Inspiron 15 or Asus Vivobook or HP Elitebook or many other day-to-day use models.
