Why not? 1% of China population is already 14 million.

Xiaomi sell only from web. Assuming 14 million, how long will it take to ship?
Guess the number is inflated just like previous.

for android 6.0 (marshmallow), when you insert a sd card, you can choose to format it as internal storage. this way it extends the capacity of the internal storage. the sd card will not be able to be used in other device (unless you format it again).

But, will this happen to Xiaomi phone running Miui?

That is the pre registered to order, not actual order. The first post did not said how much phones was on sale for the first batch. Xiaomi do not have the capability to make so much phones in short time.

So it will take 3 months or longer? This number should make Xiaomi #1 in 2016 may be?

Since the Mi 5 likely supports concurrent 4G data/3G voice, it would be interesting to know if other dual-sim phones like Xperia X Performance which use the Snapdragon 820 also support that feature.

If they do, I think it's highly possible the Snapdragon 820 is the 1st chip with that feature, which would explain why previous phones were limited to 4G/2G. I find it hard to believe any OEM would intentionally limit a phone to 4G/2G unless it's a chip limitation.
