-book BTT first
-after BTT, apply for PDL and book FTT. or you can apply for PDL after passing FTT
-once you have passed your BTT and gotten a PDL, you can start learning driving already, don't need to pass FTT yet.
-but in order to book for TP, you have to pass FTT.

if you want the most simplest method, pass BTT and FTT first, then apply for PDL. then just look for PDI/school and learn driving and he will guide u on how to book for ur test.

the problem here is that booking for BTT and FTT needs like few weeks to 2 months at least for a slot. so you might not be able to pass by mid June. That was last year though, not sure about now maybe they have improved.

Dear All,
I am a student at SSDC, just got my PDL today.
I tried to book practical lesson but only June date available.
I would like to start in May.
May I know the difference to have practical lesson via private vs school? In terms of no. of lessons and costs.
May I know if there's any good instructor for Class 3 auto ?
I am staying at Farrer park.

Kindly assist as I am very new to all this :)

U can try contacting Mr Azman. He teach class 3 manual at CDC. No: 97771800. Rate wise $30 outside, $60 circuit (1hr). He tends to leave circuit 15mins earlier so you could drive the test route. Great teacher for me though.

Dear All,
May I know the difference to have practical lesson via private vs school? In terms of no. of lessons and costs.

Hallloo ther

Difference between private and sch lesson wise is that in private, u are allowed to take any number of lessons before you sit for TP (if i remember clearly from my instructor) doesnt matter 4 lessons or 20. U can juz sit for the test. But in sch, from my friends experience they need to take ard 10 to 12 lessons. Afterwhich the instructor will recommend them to take some more lessons depending on how they have been driving in that 10 to 12 lessons. Could be 4 or 10. So in total u will be taking ard 15 to 20+ lessons for sch. (Feel free to correct me)

So in terms of private it is whether u wan/need more lessons compared to sch where it is need to take. Both sides does have its pros and cons. I am a private student btw =D.

In summary private are cheaper but sch have shorter waiting time.

Below is a lenghty explaination of the prices so if u wished to know the amount used, u can skip to the last paragraph.

In terms of pricing its slightly hard to say. Coz u need to consider that private will have two different pricing (usual case and keeping it simple) one price is for outside road. Where u drive around in the public road. And the other price is for the circuit. Means u are able to enter the circuit inside the sch and do the different courses. For me i paid $30 for road and $60 for circuit. Why is there two prices u might ask? Coz as a private when you enter circuit, you so called need to pay "using the circuit fees" thus the two price. As far as sch is concern and keeping it simple (taking out the peak and non peak charges) it will have one price. But u do need to consider that this price you paid includes circuit. If i remember correctly (again sry for being forgetful) my friend paid 80++ for 90mins for lessons as student while i paid $60 for 1hr. This is comparing prices inclusive of circuit.

Private are cheaper coz firstly, the rates is cheaper if not the same as school and secondly u can choosevthe number of lessons u wish to have in private. Meaning u can limit yrself to 10 lessons if u wished so u dont pay extra (example only)

For comparison i took 17 lessons and it cost me close to $1k for everything while my friend who is in sch, took ard 24 or 26 lessons used close to $2k. I waited 3 months for my TP while my friend waited 2 weeks ~ 1 month for his.

For your the other question. Sorry I am unable to answer it.

Pardon for the lengthy reply. Hope it helps to answer yr question.

If u have any other questions feel free to ask.
