Accountancy..

As per Sangviro, if you don't think you have what it takes to be in UniSIM (which was established in 2005 btw, 10 years old alr la), don't accept the place to be in this local U then. Give up your place to someone who is excited and committed to doing their degree in a SG local U.

I am a current student with UniSIM and it really saddens me to "hear" all the "gossip" about UniSIM students. All my friends and schoolmates are awesome, hardworking and intelligent people and our curriculum really allows us to push ourselves and each other to be the best because it isn't just lecture after lecture. Our faculty also works super hard to give us many opportunities (more so than some other U cause we r a small cohort). U never see my schoolmates... Competitive until cannot haha.

So what I mean to say is I love my school and despite its obvious shortcomings, it's actually MY responsibility (and my schoolmates') to continue answering boring repetitive questions about UniSIM and change people's perspectives about students studying there.

But anyways it's your decision. If you have already made up your mind about attending whatever Uni, I just hope u turn your thinking/attitude around and be grateful that u have an opportunity to continue studying!! :)

And To everyone else on this thread still waiting to hear back, good luck!!!!!

I'm a graduate from the part-time marketing cohort. Glad to see my juniors working hard to bring up the reputation of the university. The future belongs to you. Strive on :)

I didn't want to reply but seems like many of you are misinterpreting my concerns.

I'm not worried about the students, faculty, school etc. I'm just stating the fact that people outside doesn't have good opinions about unisim or in some cases inaccurate opinions. And if this is not a concern to you, idk why are you studying, the point of getting a cert to me is for career prospect and progression, if people think less of your cert, then what's the point? I'm not saying that's the case or that's what I think, I'm just worried and asking for your opinions.

Also full time programmes were only available a couple of years ago right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Another thing about "if I don't think I have what it takes to be in unisim". I'm just saying that I lack the "heart" part because I did not have very good cca records and stuff. I'm basically not outstanding like some other people with a lot of social work, leadership and stuff in their portfolio.

And truthfully how many of you would have gone to unisim if the top 3 unis offered you the same course? Of course there are some, but I assume not many, again correct me if I'm wrong.

And yea of course I'm interested to study at unisim, if not I wouldn't even have applied. And yes I have accepted the uni and will be going in this August. In fact, I want to study there is because it's a local uni, but do people really perceives it as local uni?

Peace guys no need for the hostility. if you want to flame me, I understand, but please tell me which of my concern is not valid.

Sorry but why did you accept it if U think that employees don't perceive it as good enough cert to get a job? If you're so worried that the reputation of the uni currently will affect ur job prospect... why did U take,it up then? I'm just curious. Every uni started like this.. even sit /smu started with a not very good perception but climbed their way up and unisim will as well. Its a matter of time since like what U said.. it just started yet so many a fighting for the seat. So if you're reluctant it's better you seek other opportunities:)

Honestly, I took it cos I couldn't get in the course I wanted in the top 3 uni and this is probably my best option.

And please read this carefully. I don't think unisim is a bad uni. I am just worried that some people out there think that it is. That's why I'm putting it out here to see people's opinions.

Just received an email from unisim that I'm offered :) Waited 2 weeks since the first email that states that I'm in their reserved list.
