i also got the mailer ... does it mean the first 2k dont get the rebate ?

only the amount over & above 2k get the rebate ? :(

think i have trashed the mailer ...

Yup, only the amount over/above 2k will get the 5.88% cash rebate, and this amount above 2k can be offline or online, and max limit is your credit limit. But I guess exclusion list still valid. E.g. I dun think u can earn 5.88% for utility or government bills etc.

Yes, a few months ago I also encountered the same, disputed but failed, I still think they should not deduct the points for cash back, imho cash back is similar to rewards for consumer spending, which is totally different from "refunds". But cso insisted the cash back will be seen as refunds in the systems, as the points deducted was negligible and some nice bro here also comforted me I still gained more than loss, so I let it be in the end and did not put in more time for further dispute.

Yea, I think it's quite unfair for them to claw back points for their own rebate/cashback.

But what rate do they clawback at?

There's also another promo with all DBS cards where contactless transactions will be rounded down to the nearest whole dollar. This includes Apple and Samsung Pay transactions. Till August 31st. Is this a targeted promo as well ?

Honestly, given how indiscrete members of this and the flyertalk forum are, as well as the glory seeking bloggers talking incessantly about using this card with prepaid cards, it is a surprise this has lasted as long as it did.

Not everyone has the luxury of time and patience to go through the TnCs and imagine (pun not intended) the possiblities that a card can offer. They turn to forums like these to get updates they would have missed otherwise. The aim is still the same - extract more value from your spending, whether you are a late comer to the party or an old timer trying to exploit a loophole.

Not surprising that some old timers are annoyed, but blogs and forums are the order of the day - get used to it. And don't be so miserable, this won't be the first or last 'promotion' to be terminated.

While you are right , Suleyman points are true as well.
There are some difference of the way people interact years ago in this forum compared to now . Anyway- life goes on whichever way.

The obvious fact to prolong any "trick" is just don't share your winning strategy so other competitors (read : copy followers) don't know and make the strategy to persist longer. Bring it to your grave if you can - try to make it monopoly as long as you can. Others can only find the hard way - as hard as you think earlier.

However - assuming a lot people hate monopoly and love to share good news (selfless/socialist/prefer equality/whatever) - you can always share / haolian / shout up about your winning strategy. And since there are so many copycat who love to share around , it will go very far. Once shared in internet , it's very hard to take back - virtually impossible. Any winning strategy that copied too much will be losing its charm sooner or later.

Simple as that - decide what you want to do - this is free world and life just goes on. I don't think anybody will be miserable - it is just both sides purpose and definition are 2 sides of the coins.

Yep, keyword now is to be selfish, which is why no one (including me) will be sharing the post-AXS winning strategies. It's also because of ppl like saboking who constantly has an ax to grind with people who are good at optimizing their card usage.

Don't get me wrong, when I signed up for the forum, i did share quite extensively, while using code words so that its not so obvious, and even then some ppl were sending me PM with veiled threats n asking me to stop.

Then there were other forummers who were hell bent on chopping down the low-hanging fruit tree just because they felt that other people were getting a free ride just by "gaming the system".

These days , sharing is no longer caring as far as credit cards are concerned. I'm more active now in other threads on retirement planning.

why have you signed up to a forum if you're not here to share information?

its rather silly to think bank workers wont understand code words...

this forum is more open than a park, what the point of writing vaguely and not sharing - if you have a tip, let everyone take advantage of it before its closed out by the bank.

anyone posting in a forum looking for recognition/social validation saying they've got this loophole that gets you more miles/points than normal and not sharing is rather pathetic.

You are right and spot on.

The excuses they use are pathetic. They sign up to a forum to leech info and when they have something good they keep to themselves.

Those people who sent you threats is because they are afraid their rice bowl are taken away.

If you really a firm believer of sharing is caring, you can just say, I found out something cool, PM me.

I believe people who learnt from you, if they found out something, they would also share with you via this method.

Using excuses just like someone (who mentioned the same as what one did) that they receive threats for sharing, I think is lame. Yet, saying post AXS I know how to maximize my earnings but not sharing is really pathetic.

Anyway if such threats really took place, what is stopping one to tell the moderator here?
