anyone know how to fix the notification delay/missing can help me pls?

My whatsapp notification is working perfectly but for 2face app( whatsapp clone) i can only receive notification when i open the app, on my other phone the notification works perfectly.

And for apps like carousell and qoo10, i dont receive any notification for the chat and ads even if i open the app.

My xperia z and mi max have the same app and the same acc but only xperia z received the notification.

What i have done - remove the restriction from battery & performance> manage battery usage.

-turned off miui optimization in developer options

-and change the app notification setting exactly same as whatsapp setting.


May i know how much free ram you have when there is no app running?

I only have 1.2/3gb gb of ram available for mi max...
My old redmi note 1 has 1.2gb/2gb of ram as well...

I have 1.6-1.7gb free ram.

In Miui8, go to setting, clone application. You can login with another account at the cloned wechat or whatsapp.

So i have to flash my Mi Max to MIUI 8 China Developer ROM 6.6.23? Any issue u encounter so far?

Try this:
Make sure you have enable developer options. Goto developer options and scroll down to the last option till u see "MIUI Optimization". By default this is enabled. Disable it and you will prompt to reboot phone. Reboot phone and let me know if it works. Before this make sure your "autostart" of the app u want to receive notifications is enabled.

I do have some app running in "process" but using more than 1.5gb of ram is ridiculous. i just switched over from sony xperia z to mi max, i did a comparison of the running app. i have almost same numbers of app running in "process" but the ram uses is different.
On mi max, some apps like aliexpress, zingbox and etc is using double of the ram use in xperiaz... =.=

Goto your "Developer Options" and scroll to the bottom and look for "Memory Optimizaion". This option sets how aggressive the OS will be while managing RAM. If its set to a higher value the OS will frequently clear background apps running in the memory.

- High memory optimization
> Lesser apps in the memory > More free RAM > Lower Multi-tasking

- Low/Off memory optimization
> More apps in the memory > Less free RAM > Better Multi-tasking

So if you want more RAM on your OS set it to "High" but multi-tasking will be slower.
Your previous phone having 2GB which leave you 1.2GB free memory because the ram assigned to the apps is lesser compare to yr current Mi Max which has 3GB ram which also leave you about 1.2GB free memory BUT the ram assigned to the apps is much more than your previous phone and hence multi-tasking is much more faster compared to your previous phone.

Let me know if it works and clear your doubts.

Goto your "Developer Options" and scroll to the bottom and look for "Memory Optimizaion". This option sets how aggressive the OS will be while managing RAM. If its set to a higher value the OS will frequently clear background apps running in the memory.

- High memory optimization
> Lesser apps in the memory > More free RAM > Lower Multi-tasking

- Low/Off memory optimization
> More apps in the memory > Less free RAM > Better Multi-tasking

So if you want more RAM on your OS set it to "High" but multi-tasking will be slower.
Your previous phone having 2GB which leave you 1.2GB free memory because the ram assigned to the apps is lesser compare to yr current Mi Max which has 3GB ram which also leave you about 1.2GB free memory BUT the ram assigned to the apps is much more than your previous phone and hence multi-tasking is much more faster compared to your previous phone.

Gotten my phone today. Too me is nice

However, simder loaded "global" rom 7.3.14.0.0 despite I stated to keep the box sealed which it wasn't.

Anyway I found it strange on the serial number. How come the box serial number and the phone serial number in the "settings > about > status" is different?? IMEI was correct though.

Please advise.

I managed to flash official china rom to "global rom" by reseller.

1. download the ota china official rom from http://en.miui.com/download-302.html#446
2. install mi pc suite english version.
3. enable usb debugging in developer option (not sure this step is needed or not)
4. boot the phone to recovery mode (power and volume up)
5. plug in the phone into pc and wait for driver to install and wait till driver failed to install and click R.flash. At this stage, it should able to read the rom version and update button appear. click update and wait for 30 mins at least.
