Guys, can you make the whatsapp notification to always expand?

When i receive new multiple whatsapp messages ,the notification will always display in collapse view, i have to expand it manually by pulling the notification with 2 finger to the side everytime.

Anyone know any settings to always expand the whatsapp notification?

I managed to flash official china rom to "global rom" by reseller.

1. download the ota china official rom from http://en.miui.com/download-302.html#446
2. install mi pc suite english version.
3. enable usb debugging in developer option (not sure this step is needed or not)
4. boot the phone to recovery mode (power and volume up)
5. plug in the phone into pc and wait for driver to install and wait till driver failed to install and click R.flash. At this stage, it should able to read the rom version and update button appear. click update and wait for 30 mins at least.

somehow or rather... my 64GB set gotten into boot loop.... cannot get through the initial boot (i.e. when u start the phone it will show MI logo (center) and android logo (bottom))... it will keep restarting itself.

But in the end, i use the bypass bootloader lock method to reflash back the V7.5.1.0.MBDCNDE fastboot for helium model and manage to save the day. Now the phone boots up very well. :D

Well it is a experience for me, and now I learnt a new way to flash, although i don't really recommend using that way as it will brick the phone big time if any mistakes. :)

I think many pages back, some members had mentioned it but never show method. OK la, I will do up the steps now for the benefits for all members.

Basically it is to put the phone to EDL mode (Emergency download mode) and flash using miflash beta. I believe the shops do it this way to flash the phone to "global rom". OK info as per below.....

==============================================
NOTE: TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

update: 11th Oct 2016
It came to my notice is that windows 7 may have problems detecting the phone upon connecting to the PC.

If it happens to you, please download the MI PCsuite (Eng) and install it, do note that the PCsuite is just for some other necessary drivers.

Next download the QUALCOMM HS-USB QDLOADER and unzip it.

Upon connecting to the phone after you have pressed the vol+, vol- and power button to boot up, if the drivers failed to detect, please go to device manager and locate "QHSUSB_BULK" (usually is this). Manually install it by pointing it to the unzip qualcomm "DRIVER" folder.

This should solve the driver issue. Note this can be also use if you have problem other windows version. (note as of now, win7, win8, win8.1, win10)
***************

1. Download the preferred official fastboot rom for the XiaoMi MI Max.

2. Download and install the official miphone aka miflash from here. This will install the neccessary drivers for detection.

3. Download and install the miflash beta from here. This will be used for flashing the fastboot rom. The installer will installed as XiaoMiFlash

4. Unzip the fastboot rom

5. Run the XiaoMiFlash as administrator. Click on select and point it to the root folder of the unzipped fastboot rom. e.g. C:\fastboot_rom_folder_name. After that on the bottom right, check on "clean all" options.

6. On your phone, get to developer mode to enable USB debugging. This step might not be necessary though, but before my phone gotten into boot loop after flashing from Mi PC suite, i did enable.

7. Turn off your phone. Press and hold vol+, vol- and power button to get to EDL mode. Note that the screen will not show anything, you will know it has power on as it will have vibration upon bootup.

8. Connect phone to PC, wait for it to detect and install the necessary drivers. Refresh on XiaoMiFlash and your phone should show up, e.g. COM1. If it does not show up, try refreshing a few times, else disconnect and reconnect your phone.

9. Click on flash and wait. This part a bit scary, you can only see the progress on your computer as the phone screen won't show anything!!

10. After success, unplug and reboot your phone by holding on to the power button. The phone will be setting up itself to the new rom. After which, enjoy the newly flash rom.

==============================================

Cheers!

HI Guys, now theres 16gb 2gb version out on Qoo10.

I'm thinking since it's with expandable storage.....is 16gb version good enough since its running on snapdragon 650 ...which is the same as the 32 gb version

Get it if you don't use dual sim much as sim 1 slot is a hybrid slot (nano sim or sdcard). Pretty worth it.

Be careful about this variance, xiaomi official site never offer or announce any 16Gb ROM, 2Gb Ram version. It may not be genuine xiaomi max.

Will it affect the number of apps that i'm going to install......coz i'm planning to loading lots of app for this mi max...of coz i'm thinking of pairing it with 128gb sd card.

But kinda worry 16gb internal storage is going to be an issue for lots of app installation.

Well, you can always install the apps to sdcard. But then it is a 2gb ram version, more apps loaded, multitasking will be slower. However, if you scare, just spend a bit more and get the 32gb version. As for the 64gb version, up 2 u. Coz many members now here worried that no official global rom for it.
