Is there any driver with vehicle that can accommodate 13 people? What will be the estimate cost per day?

Actually Is it better to book two 7seater vehicle instead?

Saw one of the member's recommendation to engage Kele's service and had a great time with him! Agree that he's really passionate in what he's doing and would go out of his way to make our day fantastic.

This time I arranged to go to several scenic spots, so of which he has not been before. Nevertheless, he was willing to take me and my friends and arranged the itinerary for us. It was both raining and windy on the actual day but Kele was very sporting in hiking with us, ensuring our safety, telling us which are the photo points, taking photos of us, sharing his knowledge and making us feel at home. Like us, he was wet throughout. Salute him for going the extra mile. After the trip, he also shared lots of photos taken, including photos and tips of places that we will be going on our own.

He not only does Taipei but also does round -Taiwan trips. Would highly recommend him for a safe, fun-filled and worry-free trip at Taiwan.

Hi guys, need some urgent advice as I'm flying off coming Monday midnight. Saw many forumners recommend Kevin's service, contacted him and he wasn't free hence he recommended his partner 王先生 Who drives a volkwagen caddy. Was quoted the following:

Taoyuan -> Taichung 5500 (day 1)
Taichung -> cingjing 5000 (day 2)
Cingjing -> Hualien 6000 (day 3)
Hualien -> jiufen -> Taipei 6000 (day 4)

1. There's 4 of us in this trip, can I know if the price is on the high side?
2. Was quoted 1100 from Taipei to airport for return flight, and 1500 if we have a lot of luggage, seems a bit off from the 900/1000 I have been observing here?
3. Texted 王先生 on 18th and 19th but there was no reply from him, should we change driver? (Cfm texted the correct number as the whatsapp photo was him)

Would greatly appreciate any advice as we are not familiar with engaging drivers, thanks a lot.

normally quite hard, most drivers cant converse in english ...
even wanna contact them via whatsapp, they use chinese wordings ...
have to type chinese to converse with them lol ...

Yup Long distance, HsR is faster but was intending to stopover at some places to visit along the way as well as enjoy the scenery. Haha.
Also lugging suitcases along the way to take HSR seems abit troublesome for me especially with a child. Also I was thinking with a car it is more convenient to buy things and Chuck into the car and go another place without hassle.

Highly recommend driver CJ Chen if want to travel from Taichung to Hualien and around Hualien. Book his taxi for a one day trip from CingJing to Hualien. He drive very steady and safe. Cab equip with radio so that he can know the road situation , also bring us around the attractions around the area. Once we reach the hualien hotel, i thot it was the end of our day trip and he actually offer to wait for us to check in and send us to the city area.

Hi , im going to taiwan end of october with my 20 months young toddler.... wondering any feedback regarding these 3 driver lately.

- would like to know how is his service so far


2. Ask for a few quote from different driver and it seems mostly quote me 5500-6500 per day for tour around taichung , miaoli, taipei ( in 3 days).

3. Anyone book ah hao lately?

try 吕至峰。 he's my taichung driver on my trip 3 weeks back. very nice, father-ly uncle. gave me a very reasonable quote for my xinshe tour & even took me to other places even though it was not in our initial itinerary.

you can watsapp him @ +886 987 756 967. he replies very fast, unless he is on the road. watsapp him in chinese for faster replies.

even though he is based in taichung, through my conversations with him, i think he got provide cab tour in other cities too!

Took a solo (female) trip to Taipei last week and engage 林建良 for his service to Jiufen/Ping Xi. As soon as he know that I will be doing photography, he recommended the following destination for me :

南雅奇岩，陰陽海，黃金瀑布，九份老街，昇平戲院，猴桐（貓村），十分瀑布，十分天灯，平溪車站，西門町

The day started at 8am and he brought me to their local street food stall for breakfast. Felt comfortable alone with him (he told me it's his first time with a solo female passenger!) and he took great care, offered to carry my camera and backpack. I thought he will just leave me at the destination and pick me up at a timing but instead he accompanied me, guiding all the way, recommending the best place/angles to take pictures, which is the small lane to go. He charges NT4000 for the day service.

I also engage him for back to airport service for NT1000.

He even brought us some cut pineapple as he think we do not have enough fruits during the during trip; and he bargained for free gift with the shopkeeper we bought things.

Of course gracefulness works both ways: we asked him to have meals together and paid for it (in Taizhung, usually don't cost much) whenever the time and location allows. Treat him like a friend. Our tip had days that exceeded the time specified and had days we called off earlier, he did not ask for extra payment. We eventually give him a bigger tip at the end of the trip.

One suggestion when planning your itinerary: pick those that you die die want to go and leave space and time for him to cover those that is not very well known (yet) location for him to stop by along the way. This allow for flexibility and tap into his local knowledge.

Eg 1: my last trip he stoped by one of the temple 集集武昌庙 that has been badly damaged by earthquake and the maket next to it, we bought tidbits cheap and good.

Eg 2: he added 车程火车站 which has much more to see then our pick 集集. We ended up spending more time in 车程 then 集集.

Hi guys, came back from my trip and will like to do an update:

There was actually a minor miscommunication thus 王先生 wasn't able to reply my whatsapp messages. However when I contacted Kevin, he was quick to assist me and immediately made arrangements for 王先生 to contact me. Since my group was served by 王先生 during the trip, I'll start with his review first:

王先生 actually has an interesting name, 王前进 hahaha. He's a friendly and nice man during the entire trip. He is the kind of driver who will not walk with you during the trips but before we alight from his vehicle, he will explain to us history of the place and/or advice you with more information about the place. (e.g. He will let you know if this particular place is a touristy spot and will not advice you to spend too much or he will recommend what are some things to eat/buy at a certain shop.) Travelling becomes very relaxing because some people might feel uncomfortable with a stranger walking along with them, but at the same time they have information of that place. 王先生 is also very patient and will wait at his car and will never chase us to quickly leave the place. Another interesting thing about 王先生 is that he will always get out of his car at every location to help us take photos before letting us walk ourselves. And he is funny as he will ask us to make funny poses sometimes which is what makes the trip memorable. I must say his photography skills are really there as the photos he sent us turned out really nice. He was also a very helpful person who will try his best to answer your questions whenever he can even though it may be out of his job scope. (E.g my group didn't engage him for our travelling around Taipei but he still gave suggestions on how should we travel from places to places in order to maximize our time yet at the same time cover all the places we wanna go, he also recommended some places which are worth exploring). Last but not least, he is a safe driver but yet transports us from place to place within a rather short period.

Next on Kevin:
Although we booked Kevin too late, he was still friendly and tried his best to find us a driver at the very last minute. And although he has handed us over to another driver, Kevin will make sure that we are in good hands even during the trip. Every now and then Kevin will call us to ensure that everything is going smoothly and if we are okay with 王先生. He will also ask us about how our itinerary went and recommend changes should he find that we are actually not maximizing our time. (E.g. The road we wanted to travel from Hualien to Jiufen is actually going through repair works which makes the road open only at every 2 hour interval - 8am, 10am, 12pm etc. Initially 王先生 plan to meet us at 9am, but when Kevin called us and knew about it, he adviced that we should meet 王先生 at 8am instead otherwise we will reach jiufen too late.) There was also once when Kevin called and realised we are actually heading to the seafood restaurant, he speciaily called the boss of the restaurant to ensure that we are well taken care of. He also generously treated us to 2 fresh abalone each that was cooked right in front of us. Kevin also actually offered to pay for the seafood meal to which we kindly rejected. When we are back at Taipei Kevin actually took the initiative to ask us out for dinner and again treated us to the seafood dinner(we managed to pay part of the bill as we do not want Kevin to foot all the bill) and used the chance to repeatedly apologise on behalf of 王先生 for not replying to my messages on the 18th and 19th. During the dinner when my friend asked Kevin where can he purchase Muachee, Kevin actually specially came to picked us up the following day to drive us from Taipei to Jiufen just to get the muachee my friend wanted and treated us to lunch at jiufen. My friends and I were all amazed by his friendliness and kindness that for a moment we doubted if we actually had to pay Kevin for his special service HAHAHAHA(super Singaporean).

Sorry for the super lengthy post but I was hoping my story will be able to help some people out there who are considering if they should engage drivers. At the same time my friends and I were all thoroughly impressed and amazed by Kevin and 王先生's service that we feel they deserve all the recognition. But please do not book them with the intention of trying to get free meals as being a cab driver is a really tough job it's all hard earned money.

I went last April, toyota wish taxi, can take 3 large luggage, quite new (1-2 yr old?), no weird smell. And he don't smoke, or at least I did not see he smoke.

hi guys! im still in taipei and engaged a driver whose name is 啊辉. previously someone recommended him over here and said that hes very helpful as they had elderly in the group. thus i contacted him. INDEED! Hes a fantastic driver whose service is excellent! he helped us to be our photographer and recommend us places to go. yes, these are the standard things most drivers will do. so the best part is, he provided us with so many things! e.g wifi, umbrella, mineral water and even sun block lotion! he let us have our own time when we needed it. goodness, im not trying to hard sell him but ive been to taiwan and engaged a few drivers. so far, imo, hes the best driver. oh yes, his pricing is reasonable too. i even recommend him to my own friends

driver in taichung

we got a driver for 3 days for our taichung tour in April. He can speak english very well, hd drives a 7 seaters. very comfortable and spacious.
He pick us up from taoyuan, to taichung, den back to taipei. He will get us fruits everyday and at some stop, he will get some food for us to try at his expenses. He is quite "auto". he wont eat with us, even if there are no available table left, he will share table with others. he is always early / punctual. we are very happy with his service.

for 3 of us, he charge us NT13000 for 3 days service.

1 way taoyuan airport to taipei

I have been using this driver whenever i go to taipei. 1 way taoyuan to taipei or taipei to taoyuan NT800. I ever ask him to quote whole day service, but i remb the price is quite off the market. Hence i only use him for to n fro airport only.
