Am looking for an Android replacement phone as my current one is dying.

Came across Zenfone, whose pricing is on par or cheaper than XiaoMi. Filtered to the following models for consideration:

Zenfone 2 Laser ZE550KL
Zenfone Max ZC550KL (Was recommended as an ideal relacement since Selfie has EOL)
Zenfone Selfie ZD551KL (Was told by a local mobile shop that Selfie has EOL)
Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 4GB (Is this going to EOL or worth getting? 4GB RAM looks tempting)

Any current users can advise on the user experience?

Usage will be light, limited to just the following:
- Check email
- Run 2 games

I have the zenfone 2 laser ..

everything is good except the CAMERA.

when compared to my wife's sony camera.. side by side..
the sony's photos is sharper and my zenfone photo (quite a few blurry and not as sharp) taken at the same time on our travel ...

now i'm looking to changing the phone... coz camera is more important to me

Sounds positive. :s13:

Is yours the ZE550KL (5.5") model? Are you starting to experience any lag after owning the phone for > 6 months?

ZE551ML ZF2 was launched early last year, but it is still one of the fastest Android midrange to date. Note that the support is most likely near ending, may get 6.0 MM then EOL alr.

If you're going to use it for less than 2 years it will still most likely be able to support most apps. Games is no problem to the device, multiple heavy ones also can run without reloading.

The problem is yet again, the camera. Battery life is also ok at best, 3-3.5h SoT typical for me. At least have Quick charging (Intel, Qualcomm and Samsung Adaptive Fast charging supported) is there to help.

P.S. Idk about other ZF models after the ZF2.

ZenFone 3 will be out on 12July2016. You might wanna wait for a few more days before deciding.

$400 is way off (more exp than MiPhone). With that price, I might as well get the ZF2. :s13:

Nice, maybe can see how much will it be priced at. But I reckon the price would be low, esp if i'm getting w/o contract.

Sources hint that it will be priced near the $600 mark, not the $429/499 of the ZF2.

If you really want a much better camera then get the ZF3. If not ZF2 is definitely good enough. Performance is perfect.

Sent from Sony E5653 using GAGT

I am using ZF2 551ML 4GB/32GB for close to 1 year. I do not recommend ASUS because the after sales service is very poor. Although phone performance is good by it has many known issues from GPS, display screen to sim card holder. I regret getting this phone.
