Lasik eye Surgery

Did at the same place as you about 2 months ago. Still experiencing dry eyes. Hopefully will go away soon. May I know which doctor perform the procedure? My doc was Dr See.

I did it in 2 years ago. Mine was Dr Lee.

Due to dry eyes and allergies, my shortsightedness came back gradually. There are a few instances where i even went to SNEC to get anti allergies eyedrops, and those are not cheap btw.

My vision is about -1.25 and -1.5 now as i did a eyecheck last month. My perfect vision was shortlived, and my shortsightedness came back again.

You can say that it may also be due to the fact that I stayed in aircon room for long hours, and I studied for long hours and used my phone often as well. But I did try to take care of my eyes whenever i had the chance.

Seems like many people have dry eyes. So what will doctors do if we tell them we still have dry eyes after 3 months?

Guess will they tell us its normal and to wait till 6 months? Or simply accept it?

There is nothing they can do except to prescribe eye drops. Before any procedure you have to sign a liability agreement which covers practically any risks involved.

dry eyes is still ok if you bring the natural tear drop and apply it when you need....the one issue that trouble me a bit is the floater

i guess it's due to my eye get too dry when wake up in the morning and i didnt apply any tear drop to moisture it...after 3 months of having eye supplement and put tear drop in the morning then now it solve a bit

Seems that my right eye is weaker than my left eye now. Used to be the other way round. Not sure if it is under corrected.

By the way what brands of eye drops u guys using? Im using Alcon and Taisho now.

Nowadays I find that after you apply eye drops, your eyes actually got blurred for quite a while instead.

This is not a flame post or anything like it.

But anyone going to do this procedure please take note even though the doctor says that thats a small % of people who will get dry eyes, everyone who does lasik is at risk of it.

I would never have thought that i will the be that small %. Even though i can live with it. It is not a nice feeling to consistently have dry eyes, and my eyes are a lot more sensitive to allergies and externalities after the procedure.

If i could reverse time, i would have just opted to wear contacts and specs.

If anyone is curious, i did amaris lasik at S clinic at wheelock. And i chose the more 'expensive' option because i was told it has lesser risk and complications.

I am not saying this to discourage anyone from doing, and i have too heard of many happy and successful stories. But do think twice before committing and burning your wallet.

Is your the one with cutting of flap in the cornea?

i'd checked with the doctor before on the enhancement procedures for the 3 types of treatment.

enhancement procedures for lasik is the simplest and had the shortest downtime.

as for enhancement procedure on relex smile, it is not possible. enhancement can only be done by cutting the flap, which is the lasik procedure or ASA.

as for ASA, one had to go through the same long downtime after enhancement procedures.

However, the rate of enhancement is not high.
Less than 3% of people actually need enhancement.

Sorry to hear that you're still experiencing dry eyes.
Unfortunately, risk of dry eye is higher in the case of lasik due to the creation of flap.

Sad to say, dry eye is the most common side effect, and how long it lasts greatly depends on individuals. To help your dry eyes, it's always good to have eye lubricants around.

Hope you quoted some blogger name for referral discount.
It can takes up to one month before your vision become clear, and few months before the vision fully stablised.

imho, lasek and the trans epi-lasik that i went, is quite similar in terms of experience and recovery. The main difference is the method to remove the epithelium.

When comes to eyes, I am the kiasi type, I dont like the idea of the doc using a tool and alcohol to scrub away the epithelium.
What if the doc applied too much force and damage the corneal.
I trust the laser more as it is more precise. If there is going to have a problem with the laser, then I am sure it will also have problem when it does the correcting.

yeah bro. when it comes to such surgery involving an important part of our body, we tend to choose a procedure that is as least invasive as possible. hence, the reason why many of us are choosing lasek over lasik, without cutting into the cornea.

it all boils down to your perspective, rubbing alcohol on the eyes or a laser beam shining into your eyes is damaging.

nonetheless, just like to see some feedback from lasek patients.

all good... today is day 8 for me... exactly 1 wk after ops.

yesterday my sight was super clear. I can see computer screen and hp at ease. today the vision drops a bit.

I am computer-bound job, so I try to look away the pc (eg walk to pantry or photocopier room or toilet) every 1 hr to rest my eyes a bit.

I started working today as well.

Did anyone hear of W Eye Clinic? If so, mind to kindly share your experience about that clinic. It's a rather new eye clinic - 3yo if I'm not wrong, but the eye surgeon has over 20 years of experience in the RSAF.
