Omg. That sounded alittle true.

Unless is say use the money parents give to do investment make some money. That one still can put it down to "parents give u money and u made the most out of it to make more to buy wat u want" and have that bit of credit. Imagine ur parents give u 70 bucks a week, I assume u are in uni and I get 50 a week a few years back. I see whether u can save 11k not.

Savings as a student is just consider parents buy for u la.unless u don take allowance. Saying that u save up for it as a student is just a nice way of saying ur parents bought u the watch

Actually I would say 95% of it is my own money lol. From part-time work, NS etc.
Currently served 1.5yrs in the army. 145 days to ord lo! After my A-levels I had a few months to work and save as well.

Yes agreed, for a sub 400$ watch it's hitting a lot of right places.

Even the mineral glass which is a letdown somehow had a coating I feel, the glass is one of the smoothest surface among my watches. Dunno why.

Secondly the second hand abit shorter than desired.

Beside these two points, really nothing to fault it. Hehe

Which limited edition u talking about? Any photo?

this is their best one : white dial and blue hands and what i find the perfect size for a dress watch. the blue hands in the right light (like your pic) adds that little zing too.

the orient star somes limited edition gen 1 (non-skeleton) comes a close second to me.

Well if that's true, that's more worthy of the watch. Rolex in Chinese is 劳力士, I always joke that it means a hardworking gentlemen.

Yup! I found out that Rolex is 劳力士 while in HK recently. Thought the same of the name too. A hardworking and loyal individual, and that the brand attests to those values.

If only I dun have so many hobbies and wasted so much money on ex girl friends haha I probably can wear a patek and join the Dai gor.

But then life is more than that, experiencing all the good and bad choices, sweet and regrets are what makes it worthwhile. Glad that my current situation allows me to continue indulging in my hobbies including watches.

Isn't this a horological hobby thread?

What's with the vindication towards the matter of how it's attained?

I agree. 95% of the population will not notice what your watch is. Even if they do, they most likely will not comment or they will just give a passing glance. Horology is a self-satiated hobby imo.

to a certain extent. I tend to bio what ppl wear and got ppl bio what I wear. Haha.
