Hey guys.

Which model of red wings will be the dressy type of boots? Beckmans or iron rangers?

How do red wings compared to wolverine 1k mile?

For red wings boots, do you guys purchase from the sg store or purchase online overseas? When are the sales usually?

Please advise

Thanks.

Oh my, sweet!

I also need to do a resole soon for my 875.
I did email Lin (Dr Sole), but there's no response.

Can I know how do you get in contact with him?

Would like to ask for quotation and what varieties of soles he has (even for those in experimental stage).

I emailed him though sometimes he doesn't respond for a few days. If still no reply after a few days, send another email again. I think he is clearing his back logged orders because he went on a vacation on first week of July.
I was surprised when he actually called me to let me know that he is starting on my boot, and what asked soles I want :s13:
There's rubber, cord and cork soles. He charges in USD and starts from 100 onwards

hi, where to get the obenauf LP and venetian shoe cream locally?

I thought my Obenauf from here, at AMK
http://www.hosoonlee.com.sg/products/leather-care/

No idea about Ventian cream... I got it as a Massdrop pack, cream + black and brown for about 28USD

I emailed him twice for the past few weeks.
Think I will give him another email today.

I remember sawing someone posted the prices some months ago on this thread.

Something like:
Resole sole
Resole sole + heel
Resole sole + heel + single leather midsole
Resole sole + heel + double leather midsole

Just wondering, if I just need a simple basic resole, it will be just sole + heel right? Since I believe my 875 shouldn't have any damage or so. Just that its wearing off close to finishing its white crepe sole.

I am either looking to replace using its default raw cord full sole, or if they have their own version of commando sole, or their own version of dainite sole will be cool.

I've been wearing my red wing for 17 years. Changed soles 4 times already. Never once have i used any leather cleaners for my boots, coz I find it kinda faggoty to do that for a something that is meant to be rugged. Still wearing them to this day.

Hi! So it was you who recommended and did a review.
I only remember someone used his services before few months back.

Was thinking how you guys get in contact with him, the few emails I sent to him over a few weeks are not getting any response...

Maybe you send out too much email, to the point that the system auto mark it as spam and delete? :s13:

But honestly, they don't have a habit of replying emails. Example; I made the payment made over PayPal and sent them a notification email. Only got a thanks reply and sent out shipment with tracking number 2 weeks later.

You can always try calling them, it's on their website; +886-2-2581-5285 :D

Cause want to check and make sure + pricing quotation.
He replied me last night with a $110 USD for resole my red wing 875 with either his full sole raw cord or dainite lookalike.

But want to ask his current wait list how long and shipping how much.

Top up a bit can get the same 875 again on sale.
But would love to give it a try with the raw cord full sole, see whether can last at least 3 years before sole gone or not. (Got Reddit users commented with commando sole or similar type, theirs can wear for 3-5 years and sole still going strong, also 3-4 wears a week.)

If not get back stock 875 again, the crepe sole is going to wear off in 10 months time (3 wears a week).

this guy work look interesting too
the shipping cost is the killer, resoling is a great idea but every time i calculate the resoling cost plus all the shipping cost. buying a new pair is more sensible way.
I wont get any more white sole again. they are blown rubber, good for cushion but not for durability

Ya always a killer the shipping, but no choice.
I think I will opt for the Taiwan craftsman, reputable and nearer in location (cheaper shipping fee).

At least for 875 buy another one again no point, cause I don't want crepe sole again. Due to wear out too fast.

Whoever it is, it beats sending it back to RW factory... I was quoted 4~6 months waiting time and 280USD+ :s13:
