...Of course nothing entirely scientific, but interesting to see that dry mode (which runs quieter) performing as good as cool mode for comfortable climate settings

Is there any downside to using dry mode daily?

a few days into observing performance of my new sys3 using a Muji hygrometer. setting a lower target temp doesn't seem to lower the measured temp, but rather further decreases relative humidity to give a perceived colder feeling.

what's kinda odd is that Dry mode is able to produce cool air faster (although the auto fan speed limits itself to low & lower) than Cool mode itself.

Cool mode - 18deg + high fan = 21.8 to 23.2 w/ 41-49% RH
Cool mode - 25deg + med fan = 25.2 to 25.8 w/ 65-70% RH
Cool mode - 26deg + med fan = 25.5 to 26.3 w/ 68-75% RH
Dry mode - -1deg delta = 25.0 to 26.3 w/ 58-65% RH

nice, can you try 25deg + low fan, and if possible 18deg + low fan.

panasonic 4 ticks sys 2 is best bang for the buck but out of stocks for quite a few place. sys 1 usually 1/2 ticks.

panasonic sys 3 only 2/3 ticks. nat aire sys 3 3ticks only 2500. 500 more...

beko sys 3 4 ticks is about 2400.

Their fridge is good. But now mhi is abt 2.5k will sway towards mhi

Electronics expo 2016 22-24 Jul, got quite a few good deals (including aircon, tV) from their brochures.

...another one is MHI system 3 (4 ticks i believe) $2690 cashback $100..

I am getting MHI 3 Ticks System3 at 2580 with 3 trips ( site visit/ Trucking/ bTu installation)

IMOHO, 2690 with 100 cash back is jus another gimmick to me..
for you to buy more things with them at but the other things not as cheap...

That's what I'm trying to find out. Based on some googling, it doesn't seem like it's recommended to run it daily or even for more than a few hours. Hope there is a counter argument for this

no... "dry mode in the wet and humid periods" does not sound right at all.

the "dry" mode is meant to be used only intermittently for short periods (1-2 hours) when the humidity in the room is too high. but that only happens when the aircon is used very sparsely. usually the dehumidification when in cooling mode is sufficient to achieve a comfortable level of 60% relative humidity.

using dry mode for an extended period of time puts an additional load on the compressor because the pressure in the system increases. and should the sensors (which monitor evaporator temperature and adjust fan speed) malfunction the heart of the unit (compressor) faces serious wear and tear if not damage.

The $100 is issued as a cash cheque, why do you need to buy more things with them?
Just deposit into your bank account...

Hi I just saw audio house moving out sale they have Daikin system 4:

- 4MKS80FSG (32k compressor)
- FTKS25DVM x 4 (9k x 4)
- $3,480 (with $680 audio house vouchers but can only use $20 per $100 purchase)

Add $220 to change one to 18k BTU for living room will be total $3,700.

Just want to get the expert opinions whether this is a good deal? Anyone has any experience with audio house Aircon installation? Thanks!

Would like to add on, this is what I got from Gain City. This includes new copper pipe and water pipe laying(about 15 metres). Site survery done. We felt this is quite expensive but we are not sure. This is our first house and we are quite inexperienced. Hence we would like to check with the bros here. Thank you in advance for any of your invaluable advice.

1st quote:
2x9000 and 1 x 12000btu.
Mitsubishi Electric System 3 Inverter=$4689.00
Model: MXY3A28VA~2xMSYGE10VA~1xMSYGE13VA

2nd quote:
1 x 12000btu
1 x 18000btu
1 x 24000btu
With 2 compressors.
SGD Total: $5878.00

At first i find it cheap but realised they marked up their price of other items with shipping charges. So basically the vouchers are to offset the markedup price n delivery charges. It is a cunning marketing as it forces u to buy alsmost all ur electrical with them.

I prefer nat aire simple 50-350$ grocery voucher which i can buy grocery instead of being forced to buy more items with audio house.

1st quote, 2 ticks compressor.. Should be around 3k (all 3 are MSYGE10VA) without bracket and that price is not considered cheapest. Is your MBR very big? If roughly same size as other rooms then maybe can use the 10VA. My parents one (same as your 1st quote) from GC last year end also about 3.4k

You may want to check again if the 4MKS80FSG is 24k or 32k BTU.

Thanks but even excluding the voucher, the price seemed to be quite good or so I thought?

Ya i think it's a bit difficult to use the vouchers
