Hi Guys,

My current PC is slowly dying and it's long overdue for an overhaul.
Budget: 2.2K (+/- 100)
Usage: Games like Total War: Warhammer, CODs

No peripherals or WiFi adapter needed, have a LAN cable straight into my room.
As the PC is in my room, i will like it as quiet as possible, hence prefer the Fractal R5.

Current monitor is a Dell U2312H, but will be getting the acer X34 next mth at Comex.

So far what i have come up with is this:

CPU+MB: Intel Core i5-6600 + Asrock H170 Performance @ 504 (TP)
RAM: Kingston DDR4 2133Mhz 8GB x 2 @ 100 (TP)
GPU: Palit GTX 1080 8GB Super Jetstream @ 985 (TP)
SSD: Zotac 480GB SSD @ 189 (PCT)
HDD: Western Digital Red 4TB @ 232 (TP)
PSU: Superflower 750W Gold Modular @ 179 (PCT)
Case: Fractal Design R5 @ 149 (PCT)
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212x @ 69 (PCT)
OS: Windows 10 @ 158 (PCT)

Total: $2,565.00

Need your help to see which parts can i cut down/replace on the prices to fit within my budget.

Cheers

P.S: forgot to mention that I'll be be getting it sometime next week.

Well im not sure how much is your budget, but im guessing 2.5k?
As for for other upgrades in the future, im not sure what u might upgrade.

CPU+MB: MSI B150M BAZOOKA PLUS + i5 6500 @409
RAM: Kingston DDR4 2133Mhz 8GB x 2 @ 100 (no change)
GPU: Zotac GTX 1080 AMP @ 990
SSD: Zotac 480GB SSD @ 189 (No change)
HDD: Toshiba 4TB @ 172
PSU: Superflower 650W Gold Modular @ 148
Case: Fractal Design R5 @ 149 (No change)
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212x @ 69 (No change)
OS: Windows 10 @ 158 (No change)

Total: $2,384.00

All prices are quote from Tradepac. Otherwise stated.
Next if u can check with TP whats the cost for those offer items b4 consider buying the parts from PCT.

My budget only abt 2.2k, that's why need abit of help to cut it down.
That being said, i placed a few orders on Lazada today.
So some updates

CPU+MB: Intel Core i5-6600 + Asrock H170 Performance @ 504 (TP)
RAM: Kingston/Gskill valueram DDR 8GB x 2 @ 100
GPU: Palit GTX 1080 8GB Super Jetstream @ 985 (TP)
SSD: Zotac 480GB SSD @ 143.90 (Lazada after 20 bucks coupon) BOUGHT
HDD: Toshiba 4TB @ 172 (TP)
PSU: Superflower 650W Gold Modular @ 148 (TP)
Case: Fractal Design R5 @ 118 (Lazada after 20 bucks coupon) BOUGHT
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212x @ 69 (PCT)
OS: Windows 10 @ 158 (PCT)

Current Total is $2,362

@ZrE0_Cha0s thanks for your reco. but I may intend to SLI in the future when a single 1080 is not enough to run 3440 x 1440 :s22:, hence the H170.
Also, Palit vs Zotac which 1 is better? price diff quite minimal too.

Also, prefer to buy most items from TP, cuz can ask for bulk discount easier.

Buy zotac, palit cards known to have issues, PSU can try amazon, I saved quite a lot buying from there, I think I got my 850W at around $130 or $150
Ram also $100~ for a non value ram

H170 boards are not SLI certified if you check mobo manufacturer specs, only Crossfire (lower requirement). It's the chipset PCI lane game. You need Z170 for SLI unfortunately. If that is the case, probably SLI 1070 in the future will be a more affordable option. They're going for $5xx+ on cheaper models.

Depends on how you nego. Bought a few PC components from TP, the staff simply don't want to give me discount. They mentioned discount is only given for full rig. :s22:

Then can recommend the cheapest/most value Z170 combo?
Meanwhile i can go see where to dig up some extra budget.

Gotta try my luck, built like 4-5 rigs on behalf of family and friends there, plus other misc stuff.
The boss recognized me on my last visit there though.

Guys, some changes to the build. decided to up my budget after seeing reviews online on how DX12 will change CPU usage.

CPU+MB: Intel Core i7-6700k + MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon @ 740 (TP)
RAM: Gskill DDR4 2666mhz 8GB x 2 @ 134 (TP)
GPU: Zotac GTX1080 8GB AMP! @ 957 (after 30 bucks coupon on Lazada)
SSD: Zotac 480GB SSD @ 143.90 (Lazada after 20 bucks coupon) BOUGHT
HDD: Toshiba 4TB @ 172 (TP)
PSU: Superflower 650W Gold Modular @ 148 (TP)
Case: Fractal Design R5 @ 118 (Lazada after 20 bucks coupon) BOUGHT
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212x @ 69 (PCT)
OS: Windows 10 @ ??? (Reddit)

Budget now is 2.6k, although the lower the better :s13:

Some questions though,
1) anybody bought the Win 10 on Reddit before and how was it?
2) for slight OC would the CM 212 be enough? or can reco other air coolers. not going to go for liquid cooling as i dont want to open up the top cover of the Fractal R5 (heard it will affect the noise performance)

anyway if other air cooler are u looking for price or performance?

anyway u can consider this mobo : MSI Z170 SLI plus together with cpu is 703 @ TP
next is reduce the capacity of the HDD u required to 1TB @56

i7-6700k on air can't OC that much. Should be able to do 4.4-4.5GHz on air with comfortable temps. It's highly clocked out of the factory.

If you want higher OC percentages, i5-6600k. It's based on the same chip as the 6700k but can OC just as well ending up in the same clocks in most cases.

But you're already set on i7.

Air cooler will look at performance bah. since i getting more stuff from lazada and CC bill can bring over to next month, can free up more cash on other stuff.
The harddisk is a pet peeve of mine, i store too many random stuff downloaded throughout the years and not willing to delete.:s13:

Read an article that showed that additional threads do actually significantly increase FPS in DX12, not that I will get 6/8 cores i-7s for it.
Also, Total War: Warhammer also quite CPU intensive, hence leaning towards the i7.

Seems like the more research I do to find value for performance parts, the more poison i get
