Will be going to budapest in a couple of weeks. Other than Vass, are there any other makers to check out? Heard of rozynai(?) or something spelt like that- anyone with any experience? Thanks!

You can possibly check with AQAtelier. Besides Roszynai Shoes, you may wish to check Buday shoes as well. Famed for making norvegese stitched shoes. They should be all in the same row of shops. Beautiful place to visit.

Lucky you! I was there a couple of months ago - fabulous experience.

You probably know this already - but spare enough time for Vass to try on all lasts and find your size if you havent already, and to chat with Reszo. Might be worth writing to him in advance and checking when he'll be there, and letting him know what you're interested in and size.

Buday was fun to visit too, but I didnt spend too much time there.

Have fun, and write it up for us!

Thanks for the tips guys. Will try to take many photos and write up my experience there. Looks like it'll be worthwhile to check out Vass, Buday and Roszynai since they're quite close to one another

Rozsnyai's prices are very competitive, bordering on dirt cheap.
If exotics are your thing, I don't think you'll find cheaper elsewhere either. Especially not for handwelted stuff.
Well worth a visit I feel.
In fact, the entire Austro-Hungarian shoe market is probably unparalleled, value wise.

I doubt it. I find the Capital last to be roomier than the Hiro. A little.

Hi thanks. I suppose the hiro last toe box area is quite rounded so shld be not too narrow based on my limited understanding. If thats the case the up 0.5 size maybe too loose

I agreed with urban. Capital more roomier. Doubt you have to up 0.5 for Hiro.

FYI, I have shoes in Hiro and Capital last in the same size.

Size 8.5D
Plain-toe
8 eyelets (solid brass)
Fully lined lambskin
Regular tongue
Budokan last
Veldtschoen/stitchdown construction
