I had been playing racing game - Drift girls (from Google play Japan) and FF Brave Exvius lately.

The racing game will naturally heat up the phone faster but my Z5P stays around 42 - 42.5c.

Nice.. i'm playing FF also but mine hovers around 55c(with some peaks at ard 60c) due to my mod :s22: But it is still acceptable for me :D

I presumed you are referring to internal temperature readings?
Physical contact usually cannot feel the same heat as the phone internals.

Downloaded Cpu Temperature app and checked this morning, left pokemon go on for around 5-10 mins. temperature reading was ~63/64 degrees. others have the same mileage? will check the temperature again when the overheating notification appears next time.

p.s. friend's xperia X handles pokemon go like a champ, remains cool and buttery smooth

At the expense of not being waterproof. Don't think any telcos is bringing in X Performance.

That is the CPU temperature readings.

Idle phone readings could normally be 40+c.
Playing games readings could normally be 50 - 60c.

Your phone CPU is getting a bit warmer than normal phones, which can typically handle readings up to 70c.

Try saying overheating when the CPU hits over 70c.

Yup it's now at 40 deg at idle. I'll check it again after intense pokemon catching session :s13:.

just wondering if it is higher than what other z5 users are facing

No worries, it is more or less the same temperature readings.

You also have to take into consideration the temperature of your surroundings.
Air-conditioned places can have lower CPU readings with heavy gaming.

:s12: Awesome servicing for Z5 :s12:

Sharing my experience when I sent in my Z5 for servicing:

Staffs are helpful and patient. Know the technical details well and gives good advises.

(1) Mic and charging port are not working properly. Z5 is within warranty period and Sony's technical team changed Mic, charging port, PCB and 3 other cables. That is, they did their own quality check and found more items that requires replacement although those defects weren't reported by user (i.e. me).

(2) Upon collecting Z5, I washed it under tap. I wash my Z5 regularly since I'm working in a chemical lab. Z5 wasn't waterproof after first service and water leaked into the phone. Sony did a second service and replaced battery, charging port and LCD screen. These components are deemed to be at risk of being corroded. A brand new Z5 outer-case was also replaced since the old case experienced water leakage.

Now my Z5 is water-proof again and I'm a very happy and satisfied user of Sony handset. :)

There is local dual-sim model for Z5P, but it is only sold by Sony shops.
It should also be covered by local warranty.
